TVS launched the Apache RTR 200 4V Race Edition 2.0 in March this year. Weirdly enough, the updated version of the popular 200cc motorcycle was only available in a single black colour with red graphics. Now, the Hosur-based manufacturer has introduced more colour options and new graphics into the mix at no additional cost.
Apart from the black-and-red paint scheme, the Race Edition 2.0 will now be available in grey-yellow, red-and-black, white with red and matte black with red graphics.
The latest version of the RTR 200 4V gets a host of updates such as race-inspired graphics, a flyscreen and a slipper clutch that TVS likes to call an anti-reverse torque unit. According to the company, the latter feature aids in reducing clutch effort by 22 per cent and allows for quicker upshifts and reduced wheel hopping during aggressive downshifts.
Powering the motorcycle is a 197.75cc, single-cylinder, engine that puts out 20.5PS in the carburetted version and 21PS in the fuel-injected version. The torque figure of 18.1Nm @ 7000rpm remains the same on both versions.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Race Edition 2.0 (quite a mouthful, eh?) competes against the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 and the Yamaha FZ 25. Along with the RTR 200 4V, TVS also updated the RTR 160 with new ‘Race Edition’ colour scheme, which leads to believe that the company may soon follow the suit with the Apache RTR 180 and the RTR 160 4V.
