Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster
Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster is a 1200cc cruiser bike with price starting from Rs. 12.05 lakh. It is available in 4 colours and 2 variants. Bonneville Speedmaster mileage is 22.22 kmpl. The bike gets double disc brakes in the front and disc brakes at the rear, apart from this it has a fuel tank capacity of 12 liters.
Pros and Cons of Bonneville Speedmaster
The Speedmaster looks fantastic, has a gem of a motor, rides well, handles well and ticks all the boxes required of a good cruiser. It is priced at Rs 11.11 lakh (Rs 12.34 lakh with Highway kit, ex-Delhi), which places it between the Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom (Rs 10.65 lakh) and the Indian Scout (Rs 12.7 lakh). The Speedmaster is easy to ride and comes with a host of electronic aids that make it appealing even to novice riders while also offering fantastic value. The only issue we had from the bike was the odd handlebar position but even that can be replaced with one from Triumph's extensive parts catalogue. When compared to its competition, the Speedmaster definitely offers better value.

Bonneville Speedmaster Key Highlights
Features: The Speedmaster is a softened up version of the more focussed Bobber, with traits expected of a cruiser. It might miss out on size but it perfectly marries modern technology with vintage design. It gets LED elements in the headlamp, tail lamp and turn indicators, while the vintage Beach-style handlebars are a nice touch. The optional Highway pack (Rs 1,23,736 excluding taxes) helps give the bike a larger silhouette. The pack includes a front windshield, more comfortable rider and passenger seats, pillion backrest, pannier mounts and two beautifully crafted leather panniers. There are three colours on offer: Red, Black and a two-tone green/white. Fit and finish levels are top notch, as is the attention to detail seen all over the bike. The features list is impressive as well. It has all-LED lighting, ride-by-wire, two riding modes, traction control and cruise control.
Engine: Though the Speedmaster is based on the Bonneville Bobber, the two couldn't be more different. It gets a rear subframe that’s been beefed up to accommodate a pillion seat, while the rear wheel travel has been reduced. Other changes include twin discs with Brembo calipers at the front, a sharper rake and a fatter 16-inch front wheel. The front forks and rear monoshock have short travel and are a tad stiff. However, they feel plush when compared to the Bobber’s sporty setup, especially the rear monoshock that has lesser travel but gets a variable spring rate. Ground clearance is on the lower side so you do have to be careful while negotiating badly designed speed breakers. The Speedmaster corners quite well for a cruiser and is only held back by its low cornering clearance. The 1200cc liquid-cooled parallel twin motor might have the same internals as the Bonneville T120’s ‘High Torque’ unit but it is tuned to the same specification as the Bonneville Bobber. It is a highly torquey motor with plenty of shove available across the rev range before tapering off post 6000rpm. Refinement is of top order, with only a small amount of vibration creeping around the top end of the rev band. The gearbox and clutch feature light actuation and riding the bike in the city feels effortless.
Latest Updates on Bonneville Speedmaster
Triumph is clearing out its BS4 stock and the Speedmaster is being offered with benefits upto Rs 1.9 lakh. Know more about these offers here.
We have ridden the Triumph Speedmaster and here is a comprehensive review of the same. The Speedmaster is Triumph's take on the mid-size cruiser and will rival the Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom and Indian Scout. It is based on the Bonneville Bobber but gets a host of changes for that cruiser stance. It looks fantastic with modern touches like all-LED lighting and retro design blended seamlessly.
The 1200cc liquid-cooled parallel twin motor is a torquey unit and provides a broad range of shove across the rev range. The ride-by-wire and slipper clutch helps make it effortless to ride both in the city and on the highway.
Ride is on the stiffer side though damping is quite good. It handles as well as the Bobber and the only issue we found were the footpegs scraping excessively due to low cornering clearance.
The Speedmaster sits between the Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom and the Indian Scout. When compared to its competition, the Speedmaster offers better value thanks to its host of electronics and performance.

Mujhe abhi experience nhi hain kyunki main abhi tak ish bike ko purchase nhi kiya hai but main apne ish sapne ko jald hi pura karungi my dream bike triumph bobber
Good handling, Tight on corners. The seating height should have been a little higher, But that can be taken care of by using highway foot pegs. The only downside is the ground clearance and to add salt to the injury, Are the roads and illegal speed breakers in india. The mileage on highways can go as high as 27 kmpl, Depends on your riding style. But in cities, Do not expect more than 12 kmpl tops.I've written mileage as 20, As that's the minimum you can write.
actually this bike makes me feel like sitting in the driver's seat of a convertible, with wind rustling around and experiencing the comfort of a plush cabin

- You might want to fit risers at both ends and you're good to go.....
- I suggest to keep avenger 220 has 170mm ground clearance which scrapes some speed breakers in bengaluru, mysuru of karnataka with single rider, with a pillion it scrapes many speed breakers and potholes, even if you are on first gear. Now the all cruisers and street bikes of triumph have 130mm (3cm less than avenger), imagine the situation now. T bobber has 140mm and only adventure tourers have 200mm+ ground clearance but seat height is for guys who are 6ft or wear shoes with 5 inch heels. Bajaj Avenger is the only bike in india with no.1 ground clearance to seat height(737mm) ratio. So a 5.2 to 5.10ft guy can enjoy a bajaj avenger without hitting every speed breaker. same guy will scrape every speed breaker with any triumph except an adventure bike on which he will be too short to sit.Interestingly if they add 30mm more ground clearance to T bobber, it matches the exact seat height and ground clearance of bajaj avenger. I am waiting from 11 years to upgrade my bajaj avenger 220 bike, but I am too spoiled by that ground clearance to seat height ratio with that sofa like feeling which no bike of 10x the cost is offering. Kawasaki vulcan is a very close call but with 130mm ground clearance and a pillion rider, I had to stop the bike to cross a speed breakers. It seems no bike company designer or research team actually visits the place where they want to market the bike. They just sell the same stuff what they sell in other countries to india. morons.
- Yes, not so much in states like haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Delhi, but definitely in Maharashtra... A similar question was doing rounds by a rider from Karnataka, so it seems its problematic in Karnataka as well....but you can get a certain amount of respite by fitting fork risers at both the ends, it raises the ground clearance by as much as 2 inches....
- The brand has not revealed the exact ground clearance figures for the Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster, however, it is on the lower side, so you do have to be careful while negotiating badly designed speed breakers.
- 147mm, thats the ground-clearance of the dry weight bike.
- Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster features a low seat height of 710mm and closely placed handlebars. The bike is perfectly suitable average-sized riders, with its closely-set handlebars and forward control footpegs. Moreover, comfort is something that can be best judged personally. So, we'd suggest you to take a test ride for a better understanding of ergonomics and performance. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details.
- With the stock footpegs, the ride may become tiring.... my suggestion is to get the highway type foot pegs fitted to stretch your legs and enjoy the bike...
