After a lot of delay, the 2022 KTM RC 390 has finally been launched in India. The new RC 390 is priced at Rs 3.14 lakh, which is a massive premium of Rs 36,000 over the previous bike. Unlike the 390 Duke, the RC 390 has received its first major overhaul since its debut and the Austrian brand has gone all-out.
The new RC 390 undergoes a massive design change and the LED headlight is similar to that of the Duke. It gets a large windscreen and even the fairing is sportier. Another big talking point is the inclusion of a metal fuel tank, the capacity of which too has increased for better range. KTM engineers have also focused their attention in weight savings, the new alloy wheels are 2.5kg lighter, while the braking hardware helps shave off another 1.6kg.
On the features front, the 2022 KTM RC 390 also finally gets a TFT screen (shared with the 390 Duke). Mechanically nothing much has changed as the new RC 390 is powered by the same liquid-cooled engine rated at 43.5PS and 37Nm. Other notable features include cornering ABS, traction control and quick shifter. Just like the KTM 390 ADV, the 2022 RC 390 also misses out on adjustable suspension and even ride modes and navigation have been given a miss. Last but not the least is the KTM RC 390 exhaust note at the very end of the video, so watch it till the end! The KTM RC 390 competes against the TVS Apache RR 310, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650.
