TVS Raider Latest Updates
Check out how the TVS Raider 125 fares against its rivals, on paper. The TVS Raider 125 is among the top five best-selling bikes between Rs 1-2 lakh in January 2024. Read more about it here.
The TVS Raider 125 marks the return of Hosur-based TVS to the 125cc motorcycle segment. Positioned in the premium category, it boasts several industry-first features. TVS has now unveiled a flex-fuel compliant version of the TVS Raider 125 at Bharat Mobility Expo 2024. Here’s all that you need to know.
TVS Raider Price : The base variant of TVS Raider 125 (with single-piece seat) is priced at Rs 95,219, with the mid-spec split-seat variant costing Rs 96,219. The SSE variant featuring Marvel superhero theme liveries comes at Rs 99,319 and the top-spec SX variant will set you back Rs 1,02,770 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
TVS Raider Design : The TVS Raider 125 sports a LED face that might remind you of Bumblebee, adhering to a sporty naked design language. The sizeable fuel tank features sharp extensions, and the side panels, combined with split seats, contribute to the motorcycle's sporty appearance. An option for a single-piece seat gives it a more commuter-friendly look. However, the rear design might not be to everyone's liking, with the tail section seeming a bit out of place. Overall, the TVS Raider 125 exudes a premium and sporty vibe for a 125cc offering.
Features of TVS Raider : The TVS Raider 125 incorporates an LED headlight and tail lamp but utilizes halogens for the turn signals. The single-piece and mid-spec split-seat variants feature a negative LCD console displaying essential data like speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, and fuel gauge. Additionally, it includes a low fuel indicator, gear position display, a clock, and a fuel efficiency indicator. The bike also offers switchable ride modes. The top-end SmartXonnect variant boasts a 5-inch color TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity for features like turn-by-turn navigation, weather updates, music control, call/SMS alerts, voice assistance, nearby fuel pump locations, cricket updates, and social media updates.
TVS Raider Engine : Powering the TVS Raider 125 is a single-cylinder 124.8cc engine with air-cooling and an oil cooler. It generates 11.38PS and 11.2Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The bike's chassis is supported by a telescopic front fork and a 5-step preload-adjustable monoshock in the rear. Braking is efficiently handled by a 240mm disc at the front and a 130mm drum at the rear, equipped with standard CBS. The 17-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in 80-section (front) and 100-section (rear) tubeless tires.
TVS Raider Rivals : The TVS Raider 125 faces competition from models like the Honda SP125, Hero Glamour 125, Bajaj Pulsar NS125, and the Keeway SR125.
TVS Raider Variants : The TVS Raider 125 is available in three variants: Single Seat, Split Seat, and SX. The single seat model comes in "Striking Red," while the split seat variant offers a choice of four colors (Fiery Yellow, Blazing Blue, Striking Red, and Wicked Black). The top-end SX variant comes in two paint schemes (Fiery Yellow and Wicked Black). Notably, the base and mid-spec variants differ only in seat type. The top-tier version boasts a TFT console with smartphone connectivity.

Expert's Conclusion
TVS Raider 125 brings the bike maker back on the map of 125cc motorcycles and it has opened well enough. The bike is fun to ride, packed with features, is priced on par with the competition, and feels premium. The bike is definitely one of the most well-rounded offerings in the 125cc category.
TVS Raider Expert Review
Gen Z, the first global culture generation, values individualism and living in the moment. The TVS Raider 125, entering the competitive 125cc premium commuter market, aims to win over Gen Z. Will it succeed, or will TVS face the consequences of its bold move?
Design
The standout feature of a 125cc commuter bike usually isn't its style, as these bikes prioritize affordability. However, the TVS Raider 125 breaks this trend. It sports unique design elements like a distinctive LED DRL, all-LED headlight, a sculpted fuel tank with knee recess, and minimalistic branding with the 3D TVS logo and Raider badges, giving it a premium look. This sets it apart from the typical 125cc commuters.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
The TVS Raider 125 stands out with its powerful 124.8cc single-cylinder three-valve engine. TVS claims it's a completely new engine, offering 11.38PS at 7500rpm and 11.2Nm at 6000rpm. This makes it the most potent motorcycle in its class. Starting the bike with the silent starter produces a surprising rumbly exhaust note. Shifting into the first gear, you'll notice the engine's urgency in delivering power, and it even responds to further throttle input with that raspy exhaust. Moreover, it features an 'Eco' riding mode, which reduces throttle response and limits the engine to 8,000rpm. This mode also includes an idle-start/stop system. On the highway, the Raider 125 handles overtaking well, comfortably maintaining speeds between 85kmph and 90kmph. Beyond that, it shows some limitations, but remember, it's a 125cc commuter bike.

Ride & Handling
Gen Z wants to explore new horizons, and the TVS Raider 125 shares that spirit. Weighing just 123kg and fitted with narrow TVS Remora tires, it's great for weaving through traffic. Surprisingly, it's also a capable weekend rider. It handles well, responsive to steering, and holds its line in corners. TVS has struck a good balance between sportiness and comfort with the suspension, making it ready for cornering and mid-corner bumps.
The suspension is firmer than some commuter rivals like the Honda SP 125, similar to the NTorq. It handles speed humps, sharp ridges, and rumble strips well without feeling too soft. Even with a passenger, it stays stable on uneven roads.

Comfort
The TVS Raider combines youthful style with practical ergonomics. Unlike typical commuter bikes in its segment, the Raider offers a more engaging riding experience. With a low and wide handlebar and slightly rear-set footpegs, it provides a commanding yet comfortable riding position. Despite its sporty features, the ergonomics remain commuter-friendly. The 780mm saddle height is the lowest among its competitors, ensuring easy ground contact. The roomy seat and flat pillion seat add to the overall comfort.
Features
The TVS Raider 125 caters to a demanding generation raised in the digital age. Its multi-color LCD instrument panel is not only easily readable in direct sunlight but also packed with useful information like gear indicators, average speed, top speed, and fuel economy. Additionally, it features a USB charger, a must-have for the on-the-go generation. However, recognizing Gen Z's affinity for advanced technology, TVS is in the process of developing a new variant with a TFT console offering Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.
Should You Buy The TVS Raider?
This bike goes beyond the basics of its category. It has a peppy engine and agility, making it stand out. Despite its sporty nature, it remains practical with features like a USB charger and useful underseat storage, enhancing your daily life. It's also suitable for highway rides, even though it's primarily a city bike.
However, the brakes could use improvement, but it's not a significant issue. TVS has succeeded in creating a unique bike that still meets expectations.

My Six-Month Journey with the TVS Raider
I bought the TVS Raider six months ago and it has been great partner gill now.Right off the bat, the Raider impressed with its sharp looks and powerful 124.8 cc engine. The performance is pretty smooth and the 5 speed gearbox makes city riding a breeze. I especially love the digital console, which gives it a modern touch. However, the stiff suspension has been a bit of a letdown. It makes the ride less comfortable on bumpy roads a common issue in many Indian cities. The mileage could have been better, I get about 52 kmpl which is slightly lower than what some competitors offer.

Powerful Performance and Modern Features
fuel efficiency, spacious luggage, considerable payload, and a fast engine, are among the vehicle’s strong points, making it a pleasure to ride on changed terrains. The design is stunning sometimes, has cutting-edge technology like Bluetooth, and offers users comfortable ergonometric functions. On the flip side, a few riders do point roads that are fuel efficiency as a negative aspect and another notes the crucial role of cushioning in maintaining utmost comfort during lengthy rides.
