Despite the localised lockdowns across the country, the brand managed to put up a decent performance in India in April

In an attempt to break the chain, various states in India have self-imposed stringent lockdowns again. This has expectedly derailed multiple businesses, including the two-wheeler segment in the country. According to the data provided by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), here are the numbers of Yamaha bikes and scooters sold in April:

Model

Units Sold In April 2021

Fascino 125

5,612

RayZR 125

7,512

FZ V3 & FZS V3

12,298

MT-15

5,692

R15 V3

6,022

FZ 25 & FZS 25

182

Sure, the figures for April are lower than those in March. But Yamaha has still been able to shift decent inventory. From its lineup, the Yamaha FZ and FZS contributed the lion's share to the sales last month.

Despite a slight descent, the Yamaha R15, the Japanese brand's only fully-faired offering in the country currently, has also racked up satisfactory sales numbers. What’s even more interesting is that the MT-15 has almost caught on with the R15. Also, the RayZR 125 has been the leading scooter for Yamaha India and the second highest-selling two-wheeler for the Japanese giant.

Moreover, Yamaha recently launched the 2021 R7 overseas. Will it come to India anytime soon? Read our complete story to find out.
