The naked is more affordable with the new shades, and the R15S now gets the R15 V4's engine

To spice up your April, Yamaha has burst in all guns blazing and launched brand new paintschemes for the R15 V4 and MT 15 V2 Apart from this, the R15S has received its biggest update yet with the R15 V4 engine. There’s a lot and here’s all you need to know:

R15 V4

Opening for Yamaha’s big April surprise is the brand new Intensity White Shade on the R15 V4, priced at Rs 1,85,900 (ex-showroom Delhi), same as the existing Racing Blue scheme.

With a clean and bright appeal, the Intensity White shade looks gorgeous. It also flaunts new graphics on the side fairing in grey and red along with the R15 stickering. Adding to the fancy appeal are the bright red alloys. Similar to the Racing Blue shade, the White Intensity gets a quickshifter too, which is absent on the R15 with other colour schemes.

MT-15 V2

For 2023, the naked gets two new colours which are also more affordable as they miss out on Y-connect connectivity suite and LED indicators. The Dark Matte Blue, which makes a comeback from version one, & Metallic Black schemes are priced at Rs 1,64,900 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is Rs 4,000 more affordable than the other shades. Thankfully, even the more affordable shades come equipped with traction control and dual channel ABS.

Lastly, we have the R15S, which has received the engine from the R15 V4 and MT 15 V2. It now comes powered by the OBD-2 compliant 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA). It produces 18.4PS and 14.2Nm, paired to a six-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch. For perspective, the V3 engine on the outgoing R15S produced 18.6PS at 10,000rpm and 14.1Nm at 8,500rpm (1000rpm higher). The R15S also gets a revised LCD console and is priced at Rs 1,63,400, ex-showroom Delhi, around Rs 2,500 dearer than before.

But that is not it, we were serious when we said Yamaha has come in all guns blazing, and there are a lot more Yamaha bikes incoming including the bigger ones like the R3, MT-03, R7, MT-09 and more. That’s right, stay tuned for all the major updates.
