  • Selecting the right bike would depend on several factors such as your budget, features required, brand preference, etc. The Triumph Street Triple R is a fantastic no-nonsense friendly big bike with great performance, phenomenal intuitive handling, and a top-drawer kit. It does skimp on features and looks a bit bland but it seriously knocks it out of the pack in the VFM department. It has great handling characteristics, phenomenal performance, fantastic value-for-money, and sounds beautiful. On the other hand, Honda CBR650R has become pretty expensive. Scores low on price-to-performance doesn’t have a lot of modern features or electronic rider aids. It looks sporty and aggressive, with inline-four smoothness and exhaust note.   • Triumph Street Triple offers a comfortable seat for both rider and the pillion. However, the seat may not be as comfortable as an adventure tourer or a cruiser.   • To answer your question, bikes like the Street Triple or built for a bit of both, the city and long-distance riding. Seats won't be as plush like you find on a cruiser or an advt-tourer, but you can clock some good saddle time on. Streetfighter allows you the freedom to use your motorcycle in various environments - city, highway, twisties and track.
  • No , not possible. The riding position is same as that of a sports bike. Your wrists will start paining after an hour or so, back will start hurting if you are tucked in , you need to almost sleep on the tank to avoid wind blast at 200+kmph

Q. Is the ground clearance of 165 mm of the Triumph Street Triple troublesome on the Indian roads?
  • The street triple or street twin and even the Bonnie has a lower ground clearance and based on various forums it would scrape when you hit the speed breakers and with a pillion it is worse. Triumph does not mention.the GC but to what I enquired it should be between 140-150mm. However, the rear shocks can be adjusted for pre-loads and setting it up for a harder position (think level-2 of the pre load) it would circumvent the problem. You will have to careful during the entry to the speed breakers. But then you do not worry about scraping on most speed breakers. Other than ADV/scrambler types most of the SBKs have this issue of low Ground clearance. Once you adjust the preload of twins shocks and take care of slowing down you should be good. You cannot just go over the speed breakers like you do on RE’s or other Indian bikes.
  • The ground clearance of the street triple is a problem. Wider speed breakers are OK, but narrow speed breakers damage the exhaust or the oil sump, which will need replacement.
  • Using Nnja300 for a couple of months now. It has a much lower 140mm clearance. I must say, most bumps are no problem at all, just some poorly made speed bumps need a little care. just walk-roll over the "dangerous" looking bumps and you will be all right. (my hieght/weight is 189cms/87kgs for refernce)
