It’s an open secret that Triumph Motorcycles was working on a new motorcycle christened the Street Cup as the name was revealed in American emission certificates. Now, picture of the upcoming Triumph Street Cup has been posted online as the prototype was caught testing. The new motorcycle will be an entry-level cafe racer motorcycle based on the Triumph Street Twin. It will be positioned below the Triumph Thruxton that was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and will be launched soon in the Indian market. Also Read: Triumph Street Twin India Review
The design of the Triumph Street Cup is very much similar to the Street Twin and part sharing between both the motorcycles is obvious to keep cost as low as possible. But the Street Cup gets raised clip-on style handle bars, new exhaust system and a floating disc brake system. The motor is a straight lift form the Street Twin which is a liquid-cooled parallel twin engine that now displaces 900cc as compared to the 865cc of the old bike. It is good enough for 55PS of peak power and maximum torque rating stands at 80Nm. We can expect the new Triumph Street Cup to be equipped with ride-by-wire, traction control system and ABS as standard fitment. Expect the new Triumph Street Cup to make its international debut in the next few months and we can expect the same to land on our shores by late 2016 with a sticker price of around Rs 7.5 to 7.8 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.
