Hero XPulse 210 Rally bike made its debut at Sjoba Rally
It features a lot of changes over the base Hero XPulse 210
This gives us a preview of the upcoming production-spec Rally Edition
The Hero XPulse 210 Rally bike from the Hero factory racing team has made its debut at the Sjoba rally. The factory racing team has made some really interesting modifications on the Hero XPulse 210 for this. We expect the production spec Rally Edition to feature a lot of the same changes, albeit in a watered down package. Here’s everything you need to know.
For the rally build, the factory racing team has removed the Hero XPulse 210’s stock headlight and swapped it out with a smaller unit. Along with this, the bike’s instrument console has also been removed. Other changes include the addition of a thicker, rally style seat. The bike features the same stock handlebars, with aftermarket hand grips, simpler rally spec switchgear and shorter levers.

The factory team has also used more compact looking mirrors, bigger knuckle guards and also rally-spec footpegs. Lastly, the bike also gets a rugged-looking engine bash plate. These changes really do go a long way in making the bike look like a proper offroader. The rally bike also has an extended side stand.
When it comes to mechanical changes, the rally bike gets long-travel suspension. It gets an adjustable inverted fork that’s mounted on a RCB triple clamp, and an aftermarket rally-spec monoshock. The rear suspension linkage is also a bit different. The wheels seem to be more heavy-duty . The tyres used on this one are block-pattern ones from Maxxis. The brand has also given the bike petal disc brakes, with Brembo calipers and brakelines.

Coming to the engine modifications, the rally bike has been updated with an aftermarket coolant piping. A rally race can get quite hot and increasing cooling efficiency becomes pertinent, which the upgraded system will help with. Other than this, the bike has an upgraded chain-sprocket kit, most likely with revised gearing. Hero has also added a new chain guide and finger guard. Lastly, the rally bike also gets a rerouted exhaust pipe and a Norifumi Rocket-4 exhaust end-can.
Overall, the bike looks quite good and Hero has definitely used a bit of the learnings from this on the production-spec XPulse 210 Rally Edition. This bike was spotted earlier, and it looks like a toned-down version of the Rally spec bike. However the equipment on the road-legal bike will be quite different to keep the costs in check. The XPulse 210 Rally Edition will likely remain the same in terms of performance. The bike is powered by the same 210cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which produces 24.8PS and 20.7Nm.

Overall we are quite excited for the Hero XPulse 210 Rally Edition. We expect the bike to be launched at a slight premium, and it could be priced at around the Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. It will go up against the Kawasaki KLX 230.
