This Bajaj bike is absolutely brand new from the skin to the bones

The all-new Bajaj Pulsar 125 is not yet officially launched in India. However, the new bikes have already arrived at some Bajaj dealerships. We recently visited a Pune dealership and got a chance to have a good look at this new 125cc commuter.

Updated Design, But Still A Pulsar!

The biggest and the most important updates for the Pulsar 125 are the updated design. The fascia, the side profile, and even the tail section are completely new, yet familiar.

The headlight cowl now looks slightly more aggressive, and the all-LED headlight looks even sharper. Then there is the muscular tank and the extensions, which give this Pulsar a distinctive stance. The biggest highlight here is the new tail-light design. It is completely new and suits the overall design of the Pulsar 125 quite well.

As of now, we don’t have much information about the colour options on offer, but they are going to be completely new as well.

An All-New Heart

Until now, the engine on the Pulsar 125 remained absolutely unchanged. But now, the brand has finally bothered to make an all-new engine for its best-selling bike. It is still an air-cooled motor and gets a completely new design for the engine covers, all finished in a gloss-black shade. Bajaj has not yet disclosed the specifications of this engine, but it is expected to make the same amount of power and torque as before, with minor improvements in power delivery and fuel efficiency.

No Twin Shocks This Time

What makes this Pulsar all-new is also the frame. It is still a steel-tube setup, but now the bike gets a more modern monoshock at the rear, while the front still gets a conventional telescopic fork. The bike runs on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends and gets a disc brake setup at the front. It also gets CBS (Combined Braking System) for added safety, but single-channel ABS, at least on the top-spec variant, would have been appreciated.

Most-Loaded 125cc in the Segment?

For this update, Bajaj has also given India’s favourite Pulsar loads of interesting features.

Now, the bike gets an all-LED lighting setup, including the indicators (on the top-spec variant). The biggest highlight here is the addition of a 5-inch TFT console, similar to the one on the newly launched Pulsar N160 SS. The console features smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, SMS/call alerts, music controls, and the ability to save important documents such as your driving licence and RC.

Along with this, there’s also switchable idle start/stop, with a silent starter. This feature is expected to improve the overall mileage of this new Pulsar. Other features include a USB Type-C charging port and hazard lights.

As per our dealer sources, the bike is currently available at an on-road price of around Rs 1.13 lakh. And as Bajaj is yet to launch this bike officially, this is the only information we were able to dig out.

That said, with all these new updates, the Bajaj Pulsar 125 has become an even stronger competitor in the 125cc commuter segment. The features list is longer, the design is sharper, and we do have high hopes for this new motor.
