It’s the most hardcore, off-road ready version of the bike

Hero seems to be riding on its recent Dakar Rally high – we’ve learnt from our sources that the XPulse 210 Dakar Edition could be launched in India by end of February 2026 or by early March 2026. The timing is interesting, coming right on the heels of Hero’s impressive top-10 finish at the Dakar Rally, a milestone moment for the brand on the world’s toughest motorsport stage.

The top end-variant of the standard Hero XPulse 210 is priced at Rs 1,71,283, and we expect the Dakar Edition to be priced about Rs 30,000 more. That would bring it close to Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom). However, it will be more than just a sticker job.

On The First Floor

The biggest talking point is the fully adjustable long-travel suspension setup. The Dakar Edition reportedly gets a massive 280mm of wheel travel at the front and 270mm at the rear, a huge leap over the standard bike’s 210mm front and 205mm rear. Ground clearance also jumps to a serious 270mm, up from the regular bike’s 220mm. Naturally, all this means the seat height will go up substantially from the standard 830mm.

If It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix It

Powering the Dakar Edition will have the same engine as the standard XPulse 210 - 210cc liquid-cooled single (sourced from the Hero Karizma XMR) making the same 24.6PS and 20.7Nm, & paired to 6-speed gearbox. Other hardware items like the chassis, fuel tank, swingarm, final drive ratio will mostly remain the same. Even the feature set like the TFT dash from the top variant, all-LED lights, cable-throttle, and ABS modes will be carried over.

Off-roading Dreams Are Made Of This

The OG Hero XPulse 200 democratised off-road bikes in India, and the XPulse 210 raised the performance bar. The Dakar Edition goes a step further, targeting riders who go serious mudding every weekend, take part in local rally races, and do the technical stuff like trail riding. It’s niche, yes, but that’s exactly the point.
