This week was quite an eventful one, and we saw some really interesting developments in the two wheeler space. From the launch of new big bikes to some much needed updates on existing ones. Here’s a brief overview of everything we saw.
Royal Enfield has launched a new colour scheme for the Guerrilla 450 called Peix Bronze. This new colour scheme features a bronze finish at the tank and side panel, and is complimented with silver graphics. Along with this, the brand has also launched the Smoke Silver colour scheme for the Dash variant of the bike. With the addition of the new colour scheme, the Dash variant is now offered in 4 colours!
The Hero factory racing team this week unveiled their XPulse 210 rally build during the Sjoba rally. The rally bike has undergone a ton of changes to make it more capable offroad. The bike has seen an addition of longer travel suspension, a new chain and sprocket kit, a Norifumi Rocket-4 exhaust and also block pattern tyres from Maxxis. What really stands out about this build is how similar the modifications are to what Hero has done on the upcoming Hero XPulse 210 Rally Edition.
This week, we also got to see new spy shots of the upcoming Triumph Thruxton being tested in India again. This time the bike looks very close to being production ready. The bike looks amazing, with the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR inspired design and styling. The fairing and clip-ons really gives the bike a proper cafe racer look and feel. Overall, we are quite excited for this bike and we expect Triumph to price it slightly lower than the Triumph Scrambler 400 X.
Offroading enthusiasts now have a big reason to rejoice. The brand has revealed that they are planning on bringing the KTM 390 Adventure R and the 390 SMC R to India. The 390 Adventure R will be a more capable offroader which features longer travel suspension and better offroad capabilities. The KTM 390 SMC R will be the brand’s first supermoto bike in India and also the most accessible supermoto in the market after launch. That said, these bikes won’t be sold alongside other KTM bikes.
The Ducati DesertX Discovery has been launched, and the bike features a few additional accessories when compared to the regular DesertX. The accessories are meant to make the bike a lot more capable for touring. The additional equipment includes things like reinforced hand guards, engine guard with coolant pump protection, a reinforced sump guard, and a radiator grill. Along with this the brand has also offered a taller windscreen. The accessories are quite useful but come at an insane premium over the DesertX.
