Hero Hunk 440 SX & XPulse 210 Dakar Edition

Hero has just unveiled the Hunk 440 SX and XPulse 210 Dakar Edition at EICMA 2025. Both bikes are built with direct input from the Hero MotoSports Rally Team.

Hero Hunk 440 SX

While the 440 SX is a rebadged version of the Hero Mavrick 440, the Hunk is essentially a scrambler-themed version of the regular bike. Packing a 440cc air/oil-cooled, long-stroke engine, this muscular machine brings smooth and linear performance. This one also gets ride-by-wire, ride modes, switchable ABS and traction control.

A steel tube perimeter frame, long-travel suspension, 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel, generous ground clearance give the Hero Hunk 440 SX rough-terrain capability – at least on paper. That said, the design, in our opinion, is a mishmash of multiple styling elements that don’t really feel all that coherent.

As for its relevance to the Indian market, there really isn’t. At least that’s what we feel given the Mavrick itself didn’t really set the sales chart on fire. But then again, who knows, this might serve as Hero’s second wind, so to speak.

Hero XPulse 210 Dakar Edition

On the other side of the spectrum is the Hero XPulse 210 Dakar Edition. It’s a rally-bred beast celebrating Hero’s 2024 FIM World Title and Dakar podium finish, complete with Ross Branch’s (Hero MotoSports Dakar rider) signature on the fuel tank extensions. 

The fully adjustable, rally-grade suspension boasts an impressive 280mm of wheel travel at both ends, complemented by a towering 270mm ground clearance – specs that scream “ready for anything.” Beneath its rally-inspired bodywork sits the same 210cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, Euro5+ compliant engine as the standard XPulse 210 and Hero Karizma XMR 210.

Expect this one to cost just a shade under Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom), and could be launched here by the end of this year.
