Yezdi could make a comeback in India by the end of this year

  • The upcoming Yezdi Roadking has been spotted testing alongside a new ADV bike.

  • Both bikes will likely use a 293cc single-cylinder borrowed from the Jawa and Jawa 42.

  • The new ADV will rival the Royal Enfield Himalayan.

In March this year, the first test mules of the Yezdi Roadking scrambler were snapped. Now, the bike has been spied testing again, but this time, with a new Yezdi ADV bike for company, the latter looking a lot like the Royal Enfield Himalayan.

The Yezdi Roadking has matured from the previous sighting. The bike now features old-school exhausts (like the Jawas, but shorter), a circular LED tail light, a raised front fender, and a new headlight cowl, elements that weren’t present earlier. We can also spot a handlebar brace, a ribbed seat, and an integrated tyre hugger that also houses the number plate.

These aside, the hardware looks the same. You can still spot a gaited telescopic fork up front, spoked wheels, dual-purpose rubber, dual gas shock absorbers, and single disc brakes at both ends. All these indicate that Yezdi has taken big steps forward, with the Roadking scrambler appearing closer than ever to enter production.

Coming to the ADV, this is its first sighting. The overall silhouette -- its tall windscreen, spoke wheels, split seats, and a round headlamp -- is pretty similar to the Himalayan. However, take a closer look, and the tyres seem bigger and the tail has mounting points for panniers. The Jawa ADV bike also features a fully digital instrument cluster, a big step-up for the bike maker. Like the Roadking, this too gets a gaited telescopic fork and single disc brakes at both ends.

Both motorcycles are expected to borrow their powerhouses from the Jawas. For reference, the 293cc single-cylinder motor puts out 27.33PS and 27.02Nm. We expect the bikemaker to tweak the engine tune, though, to better the riding experience for the ADV, while keeping the peak figures unchanged.

Considering all this, the Yezdi Roadking scrambler and the ADV could be priced at around Rs 1.75 lakh and Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The Yezdi brand might make its India debut later this year by mid-2022.
