The above table is quite self explanatory. But here’s a quick brush up:
Out of eight budget hatchbacks, four of them emerged as winners: Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Wagon-R, Renault Kwid and Tata Tigor. We aren’t surprised to see all these names as all four of them are very much desired in the Indian market.
Moving up the band, the premium hatchback winners consist of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai Elite i20. The recently launched Altroz, with its impressive styling and safety, must have definitely caught buyers’ attention. We were also surprised to see the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Toyota Glanza twins emerge as winners. The next round will show us which one is better.

In the compact SUV space, the winners are Jeep Compass, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Tata Harrier and Mahindra Scorpio. We weren’t surprised to see the Creta, Seltos and Scorpio emerge as winners as they’re some of India’s highest selling models. But we were equally surprised to see the Jeep Compass and S-Cross emerge victorious, especially when they were up against some tough rivals. The Harrier must have had a cakewalk here.
Have you missed Round 1 of the Auto Premier League? Fret not. Round 2 is coming up tomorrow at 12PM so we suggest you to stay tuned to ZigWheels for further details. Here’s the link for entering the competition.
