    Hey Reedam! I don't quite know why you feel it would/not be safe to ride in the hills. Yes, the 390 Duke is a fast bike - and the performance if treated without respect can get you into trouble anywhere - in the hills or in the plains. My advice is - if you buy one - get to know its abilities little by little. As for the brakes, the grip and cornering abilities - the Duke is super. But, if you want something more sedate but fun you have other options - like the RR310. Recommending that because it has ABS. That is a must have. Hope that helps!     Ohh you will love the cornering ability of the bike. But make sure you have good experience of riding in hills on other smaller bike
