TVS Jupiter 125 Latest Updates

TVS Motors has taken the wraps off the Jupiter 125, and it starts from Rs 73,400 (ex-showroom). The new scooter has a more mass appeal than the NTorq 125, courtesy of all the things it has going for itself. Check out our story for more details. You can also read about our first ride review here.

TVS Jupiter 125 Price

The price of TVS Jupiter 125 starts at Rs. 75,625 and goes upto Rs. 82,575. TVS Jupiter 125 is offered in 3 variants - STD, Drum Alloy and the top variant Jupiter 125 Disc which comes at a price tag of Rs. 82,575.

TVS Jupiter 125 Specifications

The Jupiter 125 is powered by a BS6-compliant 124.8cc fuel-injected two-valve motor, delivering 8.3PS and 10.5Nm. TVS claims the new scooter returns best-in-class fuel economy. The engine is housed in a new frame, sprung on a telescopic fork and a three-step preload-adjustable gas-charged monoshock. Thanks to the new chassis, the fuel tank has moved under the floorboard, making way for bigger underseat storage capable of holding two helmets. It runs on 12-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels (on the top-spec variant) with 90-section tubeless tyres, clamped by a 220mm disc up front (130mm drum also available as a variant) and a 130mm rear drum brake. At 109kg, the Jupiter 125 weighs 2kg more than the 110cc scooter.

TVS Jupiter 125 Design

The new TVS Jupiter 125’s design is identical to its smaller sibling, but it’s visually bulkier. It looks fairly conservative, with a flowing design and no over-the-top elements. The fascia is reminiscent of the smaller Jupiter, but to help it stand out, TVS has thrown in a set of LED DRLs. There’s plenty of bling here too; you get chrome accents on the side body panels and the front apron. At the back, the Jupiter 125 gets an LED taillight with body-coloured grab handles (with integrated reflector). All these make the Jupiter 125 look quite premium.

TVS Jupiter 125 Features

As expected from a TVS offering, the Jupiter 125 packs multiple features. These include LED headlamp/tail lamp/ DRLs, while the indicators are bulb units. Additionally, TVS has thrown in an informative semi-digital instrument cluster that displays fuel efficiency, fuel level, distance-to-empty, Eco and power telltale lights, apart from the basics. Bluetooth connectivity has been given a miss this time around, but TVS says it will introduce a Bluetooth-equipped variant if there’s adequate demand. The new Jupiter 125 takes practicality up a notch. It gets a front fuel filler cap, class-leading 33-litre underseat storage, a 2-litre front cubby space with a USB port, and a multi-function key. An ACG starter, i-TOUCHstart in TVS’ lingo, also comes standard. There’s also TVS’ Intelli-Go start/stop system for improved fuel efficiency.

TVS Jupiter 125 Competitors

The Jupiter 125 competes with the Honda Activa 125 and the Suzuki Access 125. Price-wise, it competes with the Hero Destini 125, Hero Maestro Edge 125, Hero Splendor iSmart, Yamaha Fascino 125, and even its sporty cousin, the NTorq 125.

Sober and safe scooter- tvs jupiter 125 looks very sober, Sleek and modern from the front with that nice shapely handlebar- mounted headlamp unit and the led drls on the apron. It boasts the longest seat in its class and the relocation of the tank has meant that the scooter gets 32-litres of under-seat storage space which is more than enough room to stash two half-face helmets.Jupiter also features start-stop technology which should save you from burning fuel unnecessarily when you come to a halt.

Tvs jupiter 125 feature rich- tvs jupiter 125 is a very feature rich vehicle. It has a led drls, Headlight and tail lamp, A semi-digital instrument cluster that shows the real-time and average mileage, Distance to empty, Triple trip meters, Odometer, Clock, Low voltage indicator, Helmet reminder and a fuel gauge. These are some very important things. There’s a massive 33-litre underseat storage, Large enough to accommodate two isi-certified helmets.

Jupiter 125 is a good daily commute scooter with a futuristic fuel tank and practical boot space, good pickup and sturdy. The only missing thing is the kicker. On the third day itself, the battery was low for some reason and took to the service centre to rectify. if you daily commute it shouldn't be a problem but if not I don't think it can start by itself with this 12v battery. Overall a family scooter that gives 45+ mileage.

Tvs jupiter 125 very economical- tvs jupiter 125 is a very economical two wheeler. The latest model of the scooter is very impressive and it looks very good.It comes with the largest underseat storage, Unique first-in-segment apron-mounted fuel tank cap, And a few other practical features which makes it my first choice to buy.I have booked it and waiting for the delivery and i am super excited for it.

Jupiter 125 will likely target improved fuel economy, Its power and torque output could be less than ntorq. For this, Jupiter 125 will use an et fuel injector and not the race tuned fuel injector. It is likely that jupiter 125 will borrow its engine from ntorq. For ntorq, The engine is tuned differently based on the variant.

Must Read Questions & Answers Before Buying Jupiter 125

Q. How is this scooter for long rides?
  • At 108kg, it’s not the lightest in its segment, but there are a few things to consider. First of all, the floorboard-mounted fuel tank means all the weight is concentrated down low, so moving it around at standstill is a piece of cake. And when on the move, the Jupiter 125 seems the least like a traditional family scooter, because of another essential ingredient: 12-inch wheels front and rear, a la the NTorq. This means it feels a lot more stable than the Activa and Access in city traffic, and considering the immodest low- and mid-speed grunt on tap, you’ll be zipping through traffic all day, every day. Its ride quality, too, is at odds with the entire commuter genre. Instead of a typical soft setup, the Jupiter 125 is quite composed. You won’t feel that “bouncy” feeling that many commuter scooters suffer from when going over speed breakers. Additionally, there’s no wallow when going over large undulations, even with a pillion on board. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride for a better understanding of performance and comfort. • Hii
Q. Which scooter to choose, Jupiter 125, Activa 125 or Access 125?
  • All three scooters are good in their forte. At first glance, the Jupiter 125 does everything you’d expect from a 125cc family scooter and some more. It’s got decent performance, handles well and it’s very comfortable too. But where it really stands out is with its comfort and convenience features, most of which are segment-leading, and almost make you wonder why no one else has implemented them before. Given that the Jupiter 125 comes better equipped at this price, we think it’s better value for money, and that might be enough to convince family-scooter buyers. On the other hand, The Honda Activa 125 BS6 does everything the previous scooter did and builds on it. In terms of practicality, comfort and reliability, few come as close as the Activa 125. It might not be thrilling to ride but with an extensive feature list, the Activa 125 ticks all the boxes of a family-oriented 125cc scooter. Whereas, The Suzuki Access 125 BS6 has all the crucial updates to help it continue its streak of being the best-selling scooter in the 125cc segment. Sure it does have its own set of shortcomings but as an overall package, the Suzuki Access 125 BS6 is capable of holding its own in the competitive segment. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Q. Which is better Jupiter or Jupiter 125?
  • Selecting between the TVS Jupiter and Jupiter 125 would depend on certain factors such as your budget, preference of the segment, features required, etc. The Jupiter was and remains a fantastic alternative to the best-selling Honda Activa. It remains our pick as the best 110cc family scooter on sale. On the other hand, the Jupiter 125 does everything you’d expect from a 125cc family scooter, and some more. It’s got decent performance, handles well and it’s very comfortable too. But where it really stands out is with its comfort and convenience features, most of which are segment-leading, and almost make you wonder why no one else has implemented them before. Given that the Jupiter 125 comes better equipped at this price, we think it’s better value for money, and that might be enough to convince family-scooter buyers to give this newcomer a shot over its tried and tested competition. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride for a better understanding of performance and comfort. Click on the link and select your desired city for dealership details.
Q. Which scooter to buy Burgman Street 125 or Jupiter 125?
  • Both the scooters are good in their forte. Not only is the Burgman better in terms of performance and fuel efficiency, but it also offers a more mature and relaxed ride experience thanks to its blend of seating position, refinement and rides quality. On the other hand, at first glance, the Jupiter 125 does everything you’d expect from a 125cc family scooter and some more. It’s got decent performance, handles well and it’s very comfortable too.
