    With the BS6 update, the Himalayan have gotten heavier by 5kg. At 199kg, the Himalayan is heavier than the second heaviest sub-400cc adventure motorcycle, the Kawasaki Versys X300, at 184 kg. Some sources claim the weight hike has come in owing to chassis reinforcements made to address customer-generated concerns, but there’s nothing that’s visible to the naked eye.     @ Akash | There are 4 ways to reduce weights. 1. Remove the tank protector beams and mount the headlights and console directly to handlebar. You can get the custom mounts done for this. This reduces 4-5 kgs of weight. Also the headlight moves in the direction of handlebar rotation which i personally prefer in touring.2. Replace the steel Rims with aluminum ones of the after market. It saves around 4 more kilos indirectly improving the stopping distance of the vehicle due to less rotational inertia. With this replacement you can make the rim as tubeless too as aluminium rims are rust free, good strength and better longevity compared to steel ones.3. Replace the Lead acid battery with LiPo battery . Another 3 kg savings.4. Replace the rear sprocket with dirt race bike aluminum with steel teeth sprocket. Another 1 kg savings. All these modifications comes with a good amount of expenses but greatly improves the vehicle performance and helpful in long run

    The gearshift is very good and can easily crusie this bike on the 100 to 120 kmph of speed without any problem and get very comfortable seating position. I can go with bike for many hours and is comes with dual disc and dual channel ABS and the brakes are good. On the road it feels very very stable but off the road the suspension feels stiffer side and is very stable and off road it performs fantastic and the mileage is around 25 to 30 which is very good with this heavy and powerful bike.
