The ZX-14R is Kawasaki’s flagship sportsbike and is the world’s fastest production motorcycle. With 200PS of power on tap it boasts a 0-100kmph time of under 3 seconds. For 2016 it gets several changes like a new exhaust and new dash. A special edition also offers quicker stopping Brembo brakes.
Straight line performance, imposing looks
Intimidating size, feels heavy at slow speeds
The ZX-14R’s straight line performance isn’t matched by too many motorcycles, which is why it is hugely popular for drag racing. It is also extremely comfortable and makes for a great tourer, but it is huge, and is far from being an everyday sportsbike. Also, it isn’t the most athletic of sportsbikes either given its weight and dimensions.
We spend a few days with the 2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R to find out whether the new updates have made the sports-tourer more desirable or not
