[UPDATE: Suzuki has launched the 2021 Hayabusa at a phenomal price point of Rs 16.40 lakh (ex-showroom India). Head here to know when it will reach your nearest Suzuki dealership.]

The internet is still abuzz with the news of the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa. Not even a week after the third-generation Busa made its global debut, and a few dealers already started accepting unofficial bookings. Now, the brand has posted a teaser on its social media handle, confirming that the India launch is not too far away.
The highlight of the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa is the impressive electronic package. For the first time, the Busa receives an IMU-based lean-sensitive traction control (10 levels of it!) and ABS, along with 10-level wheelie control, three levels of engine brake control and launch control, and the new Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS).

With better electronics, Suzuki has upgraded the Busa’s brakes as well. The 2021 Hayabusa now features Brembo Stylema calipers, clamping down on the twin 320mm disc brakes. The suspension’s internals have been tweaked, but overall, remain identical to that of the previous model.
For 2021, the new Busa has received a massive overhaul visually. Everything, from the headlight to the exhaust and tail light, has been completely redesigned. That said, the new styling doesn’t digress from the Busa’s bulky silhouette.

As for the engine, there’s no forced induction or a bigger capacity motor for that matter. It’s the same old, trusty 1340cc in-line four cylinder unit that continues to power the Hayabusa. However, it is now Euro5-compliant and generates 190PS and 150Nm, a drop of 10PS and 5Nm. Now, that may not sound good, but given our roads, it’s still fairly powerful.
Before you rush to the showrooms to book (or ogle at) one, you might have to wait a tad bit longer. Our sources state that the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa won’t make its debut in India before June. And when it does, it is likely to come via the CBU route initially, which could push its price to around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). With the Kawasaki ZX-14R off the shelves, the Hayabusa has no real contender. However, in terms of pricing, it will lock horns with the Kawasaki Z H2 and the BMW S 1000 RR.
