Latest Updates on Hayabusa
Suzuki has launched the 2025 Hayabusa in India, and the bike is now OBD-2B compliant. It also gets a brand new Metallic Mat Steel Green/Glass Sparkle Black colour scheme in addition to slight updates on the other two already-existing colour options.
The Suzuki Hayabusa, also known as the GSX-1300R, is the flagship motorcycle of the Japanese manufacturer in India. Once the fastest bike in the world, the Hayabusa is a legendary motorcycle that has over 25 years of legacy. It got even more popular in India after the Dhoom 1, and since then people started calling it the ‘Dhoom’ bike.
Expert's Opinion on Hayabusa
Overview

- The Suzuki Hayabusa is an iconic motorcycle, which was once the fastest bike in the world. Over the years it has assumed legendary status among riders. But does the Hayabusa manage to live up to this image today?
Design

- The Suzuki Hayabusa retains its design language, which remained relatively unchanged over the years.
- The fairing and body panels have been made a lot more leaner and it goes a long way in making the bike look sharper than before
Performance & Mileage

- The 1340cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine is still the powerful beast, but now with the updates it manages to feel a bit quicker in the 0-100kmph acceleration
- The bike now gets a bit more torque at the lower revs, which adds a sense of aggressiveness to the bike overall
- The engine is quite tractable and you can easily ride at 30kmph at 5th gear without much trouble
- The low-rpm assist makes it easy to ride in the city without having to worry about the bike stalling
- The taller gearing makes the bike feel a bit more toned-down when pushing past 200kmph
Handling

- For a bike which is 266kg, the bike feels quite light and agile.
- It tips into corners effortlessly and is fun to ride both on the track and the twisties.
- Compared to its competition, the bike will feel a bit more sluggish and heavier to steer because of the high kerb weight
Ride Quality

- The suspension setup manages to soak up most bumps and undulations, but the rider does end up feeling them a lot.
- Overall the suspension quality is quite balanced and manages to get the job done
Comfort & Storage

- The Hayabusa has a very well padded seat which is also quite roomy. Sitting on it can be compared to sitting on a gaming chair, it is quite tight and comfortable
- The bike feels a bit cramped for taller riders due to the seat and footpeg placement.
Features

- Gets essential riding aids such as cornering ABS, 10 levels of traction control, ten levels of wheelie control and slope dependent braking
- Also features a hill hold assist, which locks the rear brake. Something useful when handling a big bike like this on slopes
- Misses out on turn-by-turn navigation, which is a big miss on a bike like this
Verdict

- The Suzuki Hayabusa is still the unmistaken king of big bikes. With the upgrades, Suzuki has managed to keep the bike relevant in the currently hyper competitive market. That said, the Hayabusa offers good performance and handling, feels a bit sluggish when compared to its rivals like the Ducati Panigale V4.
Key Things to Know about Hayabusa
If you want a bike that makes you look fast even at standstill, nothing is better than the Suzuki Hayabusa. If ridden responsibly, it will show you why it has garnered a cult status among enthusiasts. This Dhoom machine may have been detuned for 2021 but don’t fool yourself into thinking its performance has been compromised. If anything, it seems to have become even quicker.

- Both the bikes are good in their own forte. The third-gen Suzuki Hayabusa is now treading a different path than its predecessors, one that is more sporty and less hyper-touring. Its glorious purpose has changed from making you want to go fast in a straight line to make you want to go fast everywhere. It wants to attack corners, it expects you to hustle, it demands you to stay vigilant. It masks its weight well and is even a good commuter.
