2025 Hayabusa Goes Green, Looks Smoking Hot Too

There’s a new shade that’ll make people go green with envy

Quick Highlights:

  • OBD-2B Compliant Suzuki Hayabusa launched in India

  • Gets three colour schemes (1 new, 2 revised)

  • Price remains unchanged at Rs 16,90,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

2025 has made it mandatory for all manufacturers to comply with the government’s stringent OBD-2B compliant norms to sell their two-wheelers in India. Along with making its flagship superbike comply with the latest norms, Suzuki has also thrown in something rather cool - a new green shade, along with tweaks on two of the existing colour schemes.

Incidentally, the green shade (has a ridiculously long official name: Metallic Mat Steel Green/Glass Sparkle Black) is similar to the one just launched in the US market, but with two key differences: the Indian motorcycle comes with black highlights and black wheels whereas they’re in a copper-ish tone in the one sold in the US. Also, the black shade now gets rid of the chrome trim on the fairing, and the ‘Kanji’ looks a little darker in the white-and-blue colour scheme.

While the US-spec version gets a tuned launch control system as well as a reworked cruise control system, the Indian version sees none of these changes. In fact, the bike remains the same as before save for the new emission norms compliance. More importantly, Suzuki has kept the price intact, at Rs 16,90,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The ‘Dhoom Bike’

Even before its official launch in 2009, the Suzuki Hayabusa gained its cult-like status in India due to its appearance in the 2004 ‘Dhoom’ movie. It was this movie which cemented the Hayabusa’s image as the first superbike in India. It initially came as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) and is now sold as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit which allows the bike to be priced at a lucrative sub-20 lakh mark. This makes it one of the most affordable litre-class motorcycles in India.

The Suzuki Hayabusa is said to be one of the easiest litre-class motorcycles you can buy in India. With the colour schemes, the Hayabusa looks as good as it was launched way back in 1998. The bike in right hands, is a missile, and can give proper track bikes a run for their money. When paired with the Japanese reliability, the Suzuki Hayabusa makes for a great motorcycle for those who want to munch miles at over 300kmph.
