Superbikes have been gaining popularity in India with each passing day. It looks like the Japanese have got a strong hand in the big bike segment as the top 5 best-selling superbikes in April have all been from Japanese brand:
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R tallied a total of 12 units in April 2025. While the number might not seem quite big, it is a massive jump over the previous month’s sales figure of 3 units.
The ZX-10R is India’s most affordable litre-class track-friendly motorcycle, as it is priced at Rs 18,50,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Kawasaki has spared no expense when it comes to equipping the Ninja ZX-10R with all the necessary ‘go-fast’ bits. While it may be affordable, the bike commands skill to get the most out of it.
Kawasaki recently updated the 1000cc Ninja sports tourer and gave it a bigger engine to comply with the latest emission norms, while making similar levels of power. Priced at Rs 13,49,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Ninja 1100SX is a capable, no-nonsense sports tourer and is made to go the distance. Kawasaki sold 15 units of the 1100SX in India in April 2025. The sales figure has gone up as the manufacturer registered a sales figure of just 3 units the month prior.
The Versys 1100 is the biggest adventure motorcycle on sale by the Japanese manufacturer in India. With a competitive price tag of Rs 12,90,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), Kawasaki managed to sell 24 units of the road-biased ADV in April 2025 as compared to the 15 units sold in March 2025. While it is not a massive jump in terms of sales, it seems Indian love big ADVs that are designed to munch miles on the highways.
The legendary ‘Dhoom bike’, Suzuki Hayabusa, has been popular in India for quite some time now. What makes the Hayabusa special is that there’s nothing that’s as friendly and also as scary as the Hayabusa. Afterall, it is one of the fastest production bikes out there.
Suzuki has managed to sell 64 units of the motorcycle in April 2025 in India. The sales figure has increased as the manufacturer sold 48 units the month prior. One of the reasons why the sales number jumped in April could be the fact that the 2025 version was launched in April.
The fourth Kawasaki on the list and the undefeated motorcycle when it comes to the sales figures, the Kawasaki Z900 is India’s most popular superbike. The manufacturer sold 102 units of the motorcycle in April 2025, which is a massive jump over March 2025’s sales figure of 44 units. The Z900 has been a very aspirational product of almost every enthusiast due to its design, the Japanese smooth inline-four engine, and the mouth-watering price tag of Rs 9,38,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
