Hero Xpulse 421

A heavily camouflaged test mule of the upcoming Hero Xpulse 421 has been seen again in a new spy video, revealing several new details. The sighting provides the clearest look yet at what will become Hero's flagship motorcycle. The bike appears to be in its final stages of testing ahead of an expected global debut.

Test mule reveals production design

The latest spy shots confirm the Xpulse 421 is built for serious off-road use. It appears to be equipped with long-travel suspension at both ends, built for absorbing rough terrain. The bike rolls on spoke wheels: a 21-inch at the front and a 17-inch at the rear. The spyshots reveal that the wheels are wrapped in Metzeler Tourance dual-purpose tyres. Other visible details include a high-mounted exhaust and a tall visor.

All-new 421cc liquid-cooled engine

The new Xpulse uses an all-new 421cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. If you're upgrading from a smaller Hero, this engine should offer a noticeable power boost. The engine will be paired to a six-speed gearbox. While power and torque figures are yet to be announced. Other than this, Hero will likely include a comprehensive electronics package. This could include a ride-by-wire throttle, multiple ride modes, switchable dual-channel ABS, switchable traction control and more. Hero is also expected to include a bidirectional quickshifter, along with a large TFT display with smartphone connectivity.

EICMA 2026 unveil and India timeline

Hero Motocorp is expected to give the Xpulse 421 its global debut at the EICMA motorcycle show in 2026, while the India launch will follow in early 2027. With an expected ex-showroom price of around Rs 2.85 lakh, the Xpulse 421 will directly challenge established rivals like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the KTM 390 Adventure S. Once launched, it will become the flagship motorcycle in Hero's lineup.
