Royal Enfield has come a loooong way from their humble cast iron engines. Now, the brand is dominating the middleweight segment with an incredibly refined 650cc parallel-twin platform that will make even a seasoned Japanese engineer go wide-eyed. Royal Enfield doesn’t have any plans to stop. In fact, the brand seems to be aiming for the stars with the new 750cc platform.
It’s reported that the project has been codenamed ‘R1E’, and the first motorcycle to get the new and upgraded 750cc engine will be none other than the Continental GT. Reportedly called the Continental GT-R, it will be a fully-faired cafe racer bike, and is said to be launched by March 2026.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT-R 750 will live up to its name by being the most powerful, fastest Royal Enfield to ever go into production. While the 750cc engine is based on the existing 648cc engine platform, the bore and / or stroke might be upgraded to make it slightly more powerful than before.
We expect the new engine to make almost 60PS over the 650’s 47PS. The 650cc parallel-twin motor is a relaxed engine which likes to maintain highway speeds calmly. With the extra displacement, the 750 is expected to be livelier and a bit gruntier to make those triple-digit highway overtakes a bit more easily. Of course, this will also be the base for the future seasons of the famed Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup championship series. Obviously, the race bike is expected to be an even angrier beast to tame than the current one.

Enthusiasts who are excited for the new 750cc engine will not have to wait for a long time, as the Continental GT 750 was already spied testing in India. However, the bike in the spy shots had half fairing and featured dual-disc brakes at the front. The spy shots also reveal that the bike gets a telescopic fork, which might be upgraded to an inverted fork when it reaches its final production-spec avatar, as performance will be paramount. Heck, even the Bear 650 comes with an inverted fork.
Expect the bike to be unveiled at the 2025 EICMA by the end of the year. It will also be Royal Enfield’s most premium motorcycle, likely slotting above the Super Meteor 650, at least until the Himalayan 750 comes into the picture. Expect the Continental GT 750 to be priced at around Rs 4.3 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Continental GT 750 will most likely be followed up by the highly anticipated Himalayan 750, which too has been spotted recently. The Himalayan 750 though, will come a lot later, most likely by 2026-end in India.
