New colours add more attitude to Kawasaki's baby Ninja, while the Indian-spec Ninja 300 remains unchanged

2026 Kawasaki Ninja 250 Launched Internationally

Kawasaki has launched the 2026 Ninja 250 in Japan with new colour schemes and updated graphics. The changes are purely cosmetic, with the motorcycle retaining the same mechanical package underneath.

The updated model gets sharper dual-tone paint options, fresh graphics and revised detailing that give the fully faired sportbike a more aggressive look. Alongside Kawasaki's signature Lime Green KRT-inspired livery, the Ninja 250 is now offered in darker metallic shades with contrasting graphics, making the bike look even sportier.

No Changes Under The Fairing

Mechanically, the Ninja 250 remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 249cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 39 PS at 12,500rpm and 23.5 Nm at 10,000rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and gets an assist and slipper clutch as standard.

Apart from the new paint schemes, Kawasaki has not made any changes to the chassis, suspension, braking hardware or features.

What About India?

While the Ninja 250 is sold in several international markets, India continues to get the larger Kawasaki Ninja 300. It is powered by a 296cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces the same power at 39 PS but slightly more torque at 26.1 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring an assist and slipper clutch.

In India, the Ninja 300 is currently priced at Rs 3,17,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

That said, the motorcycle has been due for a major update for a long time now. While Kawasaki has introduced new colours over the years, the Ninja 300 has remained largely unchanged in terms of design, features and overall package. With rivals such as the Yamaha R3, Aprilia RS 457 and KTM RC 390 offering more modern equipment, the ageing Ninja 300 is beginning to show its age.

Although Kawasaki India has not announced any plans yet, the Japanese market's latest colour update suggests that refreshed paint schemes could eventually make their way to the Indian-spec Ninja 300 as well.
