Bajaj Chetak On-road Prices Revealed!

Bookings for both variants of the Chetak have commenced online
- The booking amount for the Chetak has been set at Rs 2,000.
- Buyers only need to enter their mobile number and basic details on Bajaj’s special Chetak microsite to book one.
- The Urbane variant of the Chetak is more affordable than the Ather 450.
Bajaj has opened its order books for its first-ever electric scooter, the Chetak . Available in two variants - Urbane and Premium - the scooter can be booked via the company’s official website for a token amount of Rs 2,000. However, Bajaj will charge a cancellation fee of Rs 1,000 in case you do not wish to go ahead with the purchase. Bajaj will commence deliveries of the Premium variant in February while the Urbane trim will only be available from May.

To book a Chetak, you only need to enter your mobile number, email id and a few other details on Bajaj’s Chetak microsite. You will then be asked to choose your city of residence as well as the dealership where you want to pick up the scooter from. In Pune, the Chetak can be picked up from a list of four dealerships while in Bengaluru, it will be available in 13 dealerships. The Chetak Electric will only be sold through KTM dealerships.

As you can see, the Ather 450 has a lower ex-showroom price than the Premium variant of the Chetak. Despite higher insurance costs and lower subsidy, the 450 turns out to be a cheaper alternative to the Chetak Premium.
In terms of features on offer, the 450 has a lot more AI-based tech than the Chetak. However, the latter claims to offer better range and slightly better charging times via a 5A house charger.
