CS Santosh Puts The Upcoming Himalayan 450 Through Its Paces highlights

We’ve already seen the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 being tested on public roads endlessly. But up until now, it was mainly tarmac (except for one small teaser). Now, for the first time ever, it has been seen going off the road. And astride the upcoming ADV is Dakar Rally rider and arguably India’s best off-road rider, CS Santosh. Given that he was the very man who was involved in the Himalayan’s promotional video back when it was launched in India for the first time, it seems like life truly has come full circle. 

Talking about the bike, it’s been seen undisguised and it does look a bit more modern than the current Himalayan, while retaining the overall rugged look. And yeah, it doesn’t only look off-road ready, it goes like one too! Interestingly, the video also shows the bike getting an Arrow exhaust. While it won't come on the bike as standard, we'd be very happy if Royal Enfield offers it as an optional accessory.  

All in all, our excitement for the Himalayan 450 has more than doubled on seeing this little teaser. The ADV should be here in the coming months at a price tag of around Rs 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom). There is also a more hardcore variant of the same in the pipeline. And given that CS Santosh ended his partnership with Hero last year, could this mean Team Royal Enfield to Dakar Rally? That, only time will tell…
