Yamaha has added a new colour for the neo-retro motorcycle in Thailand

The popularity of neo-retro motorcycles is on the rise and the Yamaha XSR155 has been one of the most sought-after offerings in this genre. The Japanese bikemaker has now launched a new colour for the R15’s retro sibling in Thailand. The new dark grey colour goes on sale along with the regular grey without any change in price. The bike retails at THB 91,500 which translates to Rs 2.16 lakh.

The dark grey paint scheme goes perfectly well with the retro appeal of the bike. The front fender, tank, and rear fender come doused in matte grey paint, while the side panel gets a brushed aluminium finish. Yamaha has retained the blacked-out bits such as the forks, chassis, and alloys from the other models. Just like with the other grey, this colour scheme too comes with a tan seat that screams retro.

The new paint scheme gets a unique livery too. This one gets the ‘XSR155’ label on the tank and the ‘Yamaha’ branding on the side panels, unlike the other colour options. The cyan livery on the tank, however, isn’t very retro-ish. We think plain black colour would have sufficed.

Except for the new paint scheme, no other changes have been made to the bike. The Yamaha XSR155 continues to use the same 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, developing 19.3PS and 14.7Nm from the R15.

Even though Indian enthusiasts are smitten by the Yamaha XSR155, the Japanese brand doesn’t have any plans of bringing it to India. However, it intends to satiate our desire for a neo-retro machine with the upcoming Yamaha FZ-X, which is likely to debut very soon.
