The Yamaha XSR 155, with prices starting at Rs 1,49,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi), is positioned as the brand’s neo-retro roadster in the 150-160cc segment. Built on the same platform as the Yamaha R15 V4 and Yamaha MT-15 V2.0, the XSR 155 blends modern performance with classic styling cues inspired by Yamaha’s larger XSR bikes. Let’s take a detailed look at the XSR 155 in these detailed images:
Front
The XSR 155 gets a classic neo-retro design that draws inspiration from Yamaha’s “Sport Heritage” lineup. Up front, it gets a round LED headlight with a clean, minimalist housing that immediately gives it a timeless appearance. The gold-coloured upside-down fork further enhances the bike’s premium appeal.

Side
From the side, the XSR 155 has a compact roadster stance with balanced proportions. The teardrop-shaped fuel tank forms the centrepiece of the design and blends seamlessly with the single-piece seat.
The exposed aluminium swingarm and lightweight alloy wheels give the bike a sporty touch despite its retro styling. The straight handlebar and mid-set footpegs provide a slightly sporty riding posture, making the bike comfortable for both city rides and longer journeys.

Rear
At the rear, the XSR 155 continues its minimalist retro theme with a simple and clean tail section. The compact round LED taillight sits neatly behind the flat seat, maintaining the bike’s classic silhouette.
A short rear fender and sleek indicators keep the design tidy, while the upswept exhaust and chunky rear tyre add a hint of sportiness. The overall rear design complements the bike’s neo-retro character with a clean and understated finish.

The XSR 155 comes equipped with a fully digital LCD instrument console. The circular display matches the motorcycle’s retro design while still offering modern functionality.
The console displays key riding information such as speed, gear position, tachometer, fuel level, trip meters and real-time fuel efficiency. The layout is simple but is a bit cluttered and reading under direct sunlight might be a challenge.

The XSR 155 offers a good balance of modern equipment and rider-friendly features. It comes equipped with dual-channel ABS, switchable traction control, all-LED lighting, and a side-stand down engine cut-off sensor for added safety.

The motorcycle also benefits from an assist and slipper clutch, which reduces clutch effort and prevents rear wheel hop during aggressive downshifts.

The XSR 155 is powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine featuring Yamaha’s Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. This is the same engine that also powers the R15, MT-15, and Yamaha Aerox 155. The motor is tuned to offer a strong blend of performance and everyday usability.
