Yamaha XSR 155 Launched In Japan, Gets A New Black Colour

It isn’t very often to see a motorcycle from a Japanese brand make its India debut before being launched in the brand’s home market. But that is exactly the case with the Yamaha XSR 155. Yamaha recently launched the bike in Japan, and while it comes in the same three colour options as the India-spec model: green, silver and black, it is the black shade that has truly caught our attention.

Now yes, we do get a black colour option in India too, but the Japanese-spec version? That is on a completely different level, and honestly, it is the one we really wish Yamaha would bring here.

The Drooly-Worthy Colour

The black colour of the Japanese-spec Yamaha XSR 155 gets bronze-coloured C-shaped pinstripe highlights on either side of the fuel tank, with the Yamaha logo neatly placed in between. The bronze treatment also extends to the side panels and alloy wheels, tying the entire design together beautifully.

In a way, this colour scheme reminds us of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, thanks to the elegant pinstriping. At the same time, it feels far more premium and distinctive than the rather plain-jane black shade sold in India, which only gets a golden-coloured upside-down fork as a visual highlight.

All said and done, we genuinely hope Yamaha introduces this exact paint scheme in India. After all, we already get the black bodywork and bronze wheels on other variants, so the only thing missing is this tasteful set of decals. More importantly, this is the colour that perfectly blends the XSR’s neo and retro character into one seriously desirable package. Or at the very least, please give us these decals as an accessory, Yamaha!
