Yamaha has broadened the XSR 155 line-up in India with the launch of a new ‘Metallic Black’ paint scheme. And if you’re a fan of stealthy machines, this is very much the two-wheeled equivalent of Batman looking at the Tumbler and asking, “Does it come in Black?”, because now, the Yamaha XSR 155 finally does. The golden-coloured inverted fork gives a nice contrast to the all-black theme of the bike.

Along with the launch of the new colour, Yamaha has also hiked up the prices of the XSR 155 in India. When it first went on sale in India, it was priced at Rs 1,49,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and it was available in four colour options, all priced the same. With the addition of Metallic Black, buyers now have five paints to choose from, but each sits at a distinct price point.

At the base of the range, the Metallic Blue continues at Rs 1,49,990, remaining the most affordable route into the XSR155 line-up. One step above sits the bright Vivid Red at Rs 1,52,990, bringing a stronger retro racing flavour. Moving further up, the  Metallic Grey ( which ironically looks a little too plane-jane) is now tagged at Rs 1,56,990, thanks to its brushed-metal style tank treatment.

Topping the palette are two equally priced flagship colours. The newly introduced Metallic Black comes in at Rs 1,58,990, while the Greyish Green Metallic also sits at the same price, continuing as one of the most characterful heritage-themed option.

Through this reshuffle and the introduction of a fresh flagship colour, Yamaha has effectively created a structure where the paint finish alone determines how much you pay, much like how Royal Enfield does with its lineup. The once uniform range now stretches from Rs 1,49,990 up to Rs 1,58,990 depending purely on aesthetic preference.
