TVS Racing has made its debut in Europe, with a round of TVS Racing International Championship (TRIC) at Misano World Circuit, in Italy. The European round was held from October 2-4, and had riders from 12 countries.

All the riders competed on the race-spec TVS Apache RR 310, which has been extensively modified for racing. The bike gets fully adjustable Ohlins forks at the front and a fully adjustable monoshock at the rear. It also features upgraded petal discs at both ends and a dual AHM Pro Racing exhaust. The exhaust had to be restricted to comply with noise limits at European circuits. That’s because the unrestricted race-spec TVS Apache RR 310 is louder than the stock Ducati Panigale V4.

The bike has a data logger and a mode selector, which allows the rider to change the engine map on the go. It also shows the rider data that helps racers analyse the same after each session and identify areas for improvement.
As expected from a race-focused motorcycle, comfort takes a back seat (but there is also no pillion seat). The bike does not get a comfy seat; instead, it only gets a rubber mat. It also features carbon-fibre elements across its bodywork and a ram-air-style intake setup.

TVS has not revealed the specifications of its race bike, but the brand claims it redlines at 11,900 rpm and weighs just 120 kg, which should make it an extremely light and agile motorcycle. To put that in perspective, the race-spec RR 310 has achieved a top speed of 216 kmph at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit, making it one of the fastest Indian-made race motorcycles.
The brand had previously held rounds of the championship across Asia, including Thailand, Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia. The series now has racers from more than 10 countries.
Indian riders include Sarthak Chavan, Chiranth Vishwanath and Rakhsith Srihari Dave, who are factory riders in India and have represented the country in the international one-make series.
The brand's racing DNA reflects well, from racing the TVS 50 moped at the Sholavaram airstrip in Chennai in the 80s, to going to an European circuit. It is a monumental task. Also, the brand's continuous efforts to push motorsports in India should be appreciated, with the recent launch of the junior programme with its mini GP bikes catering to young riders.
