Three Italian and one Japanese motorcycle captured our hearts at this year’s EICMA show. Find out what they were

This year’s EICMA Motor Show was packed with motorcycles ranging from the craziest to the fastest we’ve ever seen. Not surprising then that we got to see some of the most exclusive motorcycles produced till date. Here are the top four that made our list.

Ducati Panigale V4 R

The mad scientists in Bologna unveiled its latest creation, the bonkers Panigale V4 R, at the 2018 EICMA Show! Designed to be Ducati's representative at next year's WSBK championship, the race-spec V4 R boats of 221PS of power, making it the second most powerful production motorcycle after the Kawasaki Ninja H2. If that's not enough, you can slap on an Akrapovic exhaust system that further boosts the power output to 234PS.

All this power is developed from a downsized 998cc engine. This is done to comply with WSBK rules which restrict four-cylinder engines with an engine output anywhere between 750cc and 1000cc. Despite the smaller engine, the redline has now been pushed to 15,250rpm for higher revs and quicker acceleration. Thanks to extensive use of light-weight components, the V4 R weighs just 193kg, which is 5kg lighter than the standard bike. Oh, did we forget to mention that it gets winglets? Considering it is a homologation special, don't expect to see many of these running around the streets. If one of these do come to India, expect it to cost well north of the Rs 60 lakh mark

Trust the Italians to come up with something so beautiful. The latest manufacturer to do so is MV Agusta with their latest creation - the Serie Oro. To give you a brief idea of what we're on about, its 998cc inline-four motor churns out 206PS of power. This makes it the most powerful production-spec streetfighter till date. MV Agusta claims this Brutale can hit a top speed of over 300kmph. Customers also have the option to go for an SC-project titanium exhaust mod, which further increases the power to 212PS.

Weight reduction has been given utmost importance here. With copious usage of carbon-fibre, the Serie Oro weighs just 186kg (kerb)! The motorcycle is quite the looker too, with its trademark red and black paint finish and cafe racer design. The Serie Oro will be limited to 300 units worldwide. If one of them does manage to come here, expect it to carry an eye-watering price tag.

MV Agusta F4 Claudio

Developed to pay homage to the legend who envisioned it all, the MV Agusta F4 Claudio is a fitting tribute to Claudio Castiglioni's legacy. Swathed in layers of carbon fibre and other intricate material, the F4 Claudio is perhaps the most exotic F4 ever made. Powered by a 998cc inline-four motor, the motorcycle produces 205PS of power and 115Nm of torque.

The company has used lightweight connecting rods and polished internals along with a titanium SC project exhaust to keep the weight down to 175kg. MV Agusta will only make 200 units of the bike, each retailing for GBP 83,012 (Rs 60.76 lakh).

Yamaha YZF-R1 GYTR

The Yamaha R1 is one of the most iconic litre-class superbike to have ever been built. In order to celebrate its 20th anniversary, Yamaha showcased a special edition version - the R1 GYTR - at EICMA 2018. Wrapped in Yamaha's vintage red and white race livery, the R1 isn't just a cosmetic update. It is, in fact, a track-focused beast with quite a few tricks up its sleeves. For starters, the wiring harness has been trimmed for race use. Other modifications include a new ECU, CCU and a quick-turn throttle.

Other than the electronics, the suspension setup has also been upgraded to Ohlins FGRT 219 front fork package and TTX36 GP rear shock, complete with a fully-adjustable steering damper. Not to mention, you also get a full titanium Akrapovic exhaust system. While the model that was showcased was still in its prototype avatar, Yamaha is expected to release the full specs and pricing of the motorcycle in mid-December. Only 20 units of the motorcycle will be available worldwide. And yes, expect each of them to cost the moon.
