Both the Avenger Street 160 BS6 and Avenger Cruise 220 BS6 get a price hike close to Rs 1,000
  • The Avenger 160 Street BS6 and 220 Cruise BS6 get a similar price hike.
  • The motorcycles remain cosmetically and mechanically unchanged.

    • Bajaj Avenger range price hiked

    Bajaj Auto has yet again hiked prices of its BS6 range of two-wheelers. This time, along with the Pulsar range, the Avenger range, which consists of the Avenger 160 BS6 and Avenger Cruise 220 BS6, receive a price hike too. Here are the updated prices:

     This is the first time the Avenger range has received a price hike in a while. The Avenger range last saw a price hike of around Rs 11,600 during the transition from BS4 to BS6 norms. The price revision back then covered the cost of adding a fuel-injection system, ECU and a catalytic convertor. Apart from the motor, there were no cosmetic or mechanical updates to either the Avenger 160 BS6 or the Avenger 220 BS6. Bajaj has not yet updated the Avenger Street 220 with a BS6 motor but that variant will launch soon.  

    Bajaj Avenger range price hiked

    Interestingly, the conversion from BS4 to BS6 did not affect both cruiser’s power outputs. The Avenger Street 160 continues to deliver 15PS while the Avenger Cruise 220 offers 19.3PS. Peak torque on the Avenger 160, however, has increased by 0.2Nm to 13.7Nm. The Avenger Cruise 220 continues to deliver the same 17.55Nm as before.  

    Bajaj Avenger range price hiked

    During the BS6 transition, Bajaj was one of the few manufacturers whose BS6 models got a comparatively lower price hike. This made bikes like the Pulsars and Avengers an excellent value for money proposition at the time. Now with the recent spate of price hikes, that virtue is being diminished, a thousand bucks at a time.
