Expert's Opinion on Pulsar NS400Z
Overview

Now Better Than Ever!
- The 2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z is the most powerful bike in the Bajaj Pulsar lineup. It has undergone a few changes to the performance & features as part of the 2025 update which has made it a lot more capable than before. Here’s what we think about the bike’s real world performance.
Design

A Bigger NS
- The bike has a similar silhouette as other bikes in the Bajaj Pulsar NS lineup.
- The projector headlight setup with the Z-shaped DRLs gives the bike an aggressive demeanour
- The bike is well put together, and there are no issues with built quality as such.
- The design could have been changed a bit more to make the bike stand out compared to the other models in the Pulsar NS lineup
Performance & Mileage

Insanity Unleashed
- The engine offers peppy acceleration and feels quite engaging to ride both in the city and highways
- The 2025 update has also bumped up the power by 3PS, and the motor now produces 43PS
- The engine refinement is quite good, and the bike can easily cruise at high speeds of 100kmph without feeling stressed
- The 3 riding modes have been better differentiated with the 2025 update, and the sports mode feels a lot more aggressive than before
- The Quickshifter is another great addition, which makes the bike a lot more fun to ride aggressively
- The Quickshifter is slick with upshifts & works well
- The throttle response feels a bit too choppy in the sports mode at lower rpms.
- The quickshifter is a bit clunky during downshifts.
Handling

Way Better Than Before
- With the 2025 update, the bike now comes with radial tyres at both ends which has improved grip greatly
- The bike now gets Apollo Alpha H1 tyres, which offer good dry and wet grip and inspires good confidence while leaned over
- The addition of sintered brake pads has also improved the braking performance greatly.
- The disc brake offers good initial stopping power and feel overall.
- The bike is not as flickable when compared to rivals like the KTM 390 Duke and the Triumph Speed 400.
Ride Quality

Bumpy As Usual
- The suspension setup is slightly towards the stiffer side, which keeps the bike stable when leaned over.
- The ride quality is quite good on paved roads
- The rear monoshock is quite stiff, and can toss you around when riding over bad patches of road
Comfort & Storage

A Good Balance
- The use of a handlebar as opposed to a clip-on setup has made it easier to get a more upright riding posture.
- The seat is well-padded and can easily handle both city commutes and highway sprints without the rider feeling uncomfortable
Features

More Feature Packed Than Ever
- Gets a LCD console with a dot-matrix inset which displays features & other settings
- Looks quite basic but offers good visibility and is easy to use
- The traction control system makes the bike a lot safer for newer riders
- The riding modes are quite useful, and the different throttle maps makes a big difference in the riding experience
- The switchgear buttons are not very tactile and can be difficult to use while wearing riding gloves
Verdict

Should you buy the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z?
- The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z is the most value-for-money motorcycle in India currently, and at the price of Rs 1,92,328 (ex-showroom), there’s nothing that comes close. The bike is the complete package, with all electronic riding aids that you would only get on more expensive bikes. If you’re someone who is looking for the most bang for buck then the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z is the bike for you.
