There have been no price revisions or updates this time around, though

  • Still uses the same 948cc four-cylinder motor putting out 125PS and 98.6Nm.

  • Comes in only one colour: Metallic Spark Black.

  • Retains its TFT instrument cluster, LED illumination, and the sharp Sugomi design.

  • After updating its mid-capacity bikes, Kawasaki has now launched the 2021 Z900 in India. The bike remains completely unchanged this time around, probably because there wasn’t much wrong with it.

What’s The Price? Who Are Its Rivals?

The 2021 Kawasaki Z900 goes on sale at Rs 8.42 lakh (ex-showroom), the same as the previous-gen model’s price after its hike in August 2021.

The Kawasaki Z900 primarily goes against the Triumph Street Triple R and the 2021 Ducati Monster. The former is priced at Rs 9.15 lakh (ex-showroom), while the latter costs Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom), making them Rs 73,000 and Rs 2.57 lakh more expensive, respectively, than the Z. At a similar price, though, you can also get the Honda CB650R and the Ducati Scrambler 800

    What’s New?

Nothing, really. Kawasaki has left the motorcycle as is. This is a slight bummer as Kawasaki had introduced new colours for the international markets, which were expected to arrive here. But sadly, they haven’t.

    What’s Unchanged?

The ‘new’ Z900 retains every bit of its previous self, which is a good thing, really. You still get the likeable, brawny Sugomi design with all-LED illumination.

Under the bodywork, a steel trellis frame -- sprung on a 41mm USD fork and a monoshock (both adjustable) -- houses the 948cc inline-four. The motor continues to make class-leading 125PS and 98.6Nm. As for features, the 2021 Z900 packs all-LED illumination, traction control, smartphone connectivity, four riding modes (Sport, Road, Rain, and a customisable one), and ABS -- all accessible via a 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster.

    ZigSays

We don’t really have anything to complain about since there have been no price revisions, and the Z900 is still excellent value for money. But it’s human tendency to be greedy, and we’re a little bummed that Kawasaki didn’t bring the new colours here, especially when it did so with the 650cc offerings.
