While the Z900 remains undefeated, Harley’s Fat Boy and Honda’s Hornet 1000 have entered the fray

Top 5 Best Selling Superbikes In May 2025: Suzuki Hayabusa, Kawasaki Z900, Harley-Davidson Fat Boy And More

The month of May was very important for one particular brand, Honda India. It launched several premium two-wheelers and that has finally helped the brand claw its way into the top best-selling premium bikes list. Here are the hottest-selling superbikes in India in May 2025:

Kawasaki Z900

Kawasaki Z900

The Kawasaki Z900 has been the highest-selling and most popular superbike in India for quite some time now. The same story continues into May as well. With a sales figure of 160 units, it leads the superbike sales charts by a huge margin. As compared to the month prior, it is a massive 44.27% increase in the sales figure. When we compare it to the same month last year (May 2024), the Kawasaki has shown a promising growth of 31.88%. Kawasaki, in June, launched the 2025 Z900 in India, so expect the sales figure to go up even higher in this month.

Triumph Tiger 900

Triumph Tiger 900

The Triumph Tiger 900 has always been a fan favourite in the world of adventure bikes in India. It sits right at the sweet spot, just below the bulky 1200-1300cc adventure bikes and above the 650cc model. The right combination of power, features, capability and appropriate pricing has made it the highest-selling big ADV in India. With a sales figure of 32 units in May 2025, the sales figure has gone up by 155.55% as compared to April. Even if we look at the year-on-year difference, there is an impressive growth of 72.34% in the sales figures.

Suzuki Hayabusa & Harley-Davidson Fatboy 114

We all know about the Suzuki Hayabusa’s popularity. However, in May, Harley-Davidson Fat Boy 114 (from the Terminator fame) is back with a vengeance, and has shared the third place with the iconic ‘Busa. Both motorcycles have a sales figure of 20 units in the month of May 2025. Although the Hayabusa’s sales figure has gone down by 68.75% as compared to last month, Harley’s number has increased by a massive 400%. When we see the year-on-year difference, the Hayabusa’s sales figure has gone down by 76.74%, as for the Fatboy 114's, it has gone up by 400%.

Harley-Davidson Fatboy 114

This is pretty impressive considering the Fat Boy costs Rs 8.79 lakh more than the Hayabusa. Now with the introduction of the 2025 model with the larger 1,923cc V-twin engine, Harley’s wallet is only going to get fatter.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R

Even though the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is India’s most affordable litre-class superbike, with just 10 units sold in May 2025, the famed Ninja witnessed a 16.67% month-on-month decrease, and worse, a 64.28% year-on-year drop in sales. Despite the drop, it still managed to take fourth place in this list.

Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX & Honda CB1000 Hornet SP

In fifth place, we have a tie, yet again, between the Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX and the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP. Both vehicles have registered sales figures of 6 units in the month of May 2025 in India. Kawasaki’s sales have gone down by 60% compared to April 2025.

Honda CB1000 Hornet SP

It’s good to see Honda among the top-selling big bikes as the newly launched Hornet really stirred the Hornet’s nest, so to speak. We hope the brand maintains its momentum in the following years. This shouldn’t be that challenging considering the Hornet is the cheapest superbike in India that makes 150PS, and is also the most affordable litre-class naked bike in the country.
