Honda BigWing Bengaluru Displays The CB500F streetfighter hinting at the possibility

Honda BigWing Bengaluru has a CB500F streetfighter on display and it’s raising a few eyebrows among enthusiasts. A few years ago, the Japanese marquee hinted at bringing in all three CB500 bikesCB500X, CB500F and CBR500R– to India, but COVID-19 had Honda take a conservative approach.

Last year, the CB500X made its debut in India, and since then Honda has been pretty tight-lipped about the arrival of the other two CB500s in the country. Hence, this display piece has us wondering, is the CB500F next on the roster after the CB500X? We believe this display piece is here to gather customer feedback before things become more official.

These 500cc middleweights are meant to serve as a setup from entry-level bikes and into the world of accessible performance biking. The naked segment is versatile enough to appeal to a much wider set of audience as the ergos are not very focussed. So launching the CB500F makes a lot of sense, particularly considering the middleweight segment is witnessing a boom in the country.

However, as wholesome as the CB500X was to ride, its then pricing of Rs 6.87 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) price tag hurt its value proposition. Since then, Honda has revised the CB500X’s pricing to Rs 5.79 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), making it more palatable.

We are hoping the CB500F will be even more sensibly priced, somewhere around the five lakh mark. In India it will rival the Benelli Leoncino 500, and the bigger Kawasaki Z650.
