The recently launched Ultraviolette Shockwave is the most affordable electric bike from the EV manufacturer. It gets a typical light-weight dual-sport design complete with long travel suspension and spoke wheels with block-pattern tyres. Let's find out what else the e-bike has to offer:
Ultraviolette Shockwave: Price and Variants
The Ultraviolette Shockwave is available in a single variant with only one battery pack option. The EV manufacturer has priced this e-bike at an introductory price of Rs 1,49,000 (ex-showroom Bangalore) for the first 2000 customers. The Shockwave can be pre-booked for Rs 999 while the deliveries will start by the first quarter of 2026. More information about the specifications of the Shockwave will be revealed by the end of 2025.

Here’s what the Shockwave gets:
Ultraviolette Shockwave gets a neatly designed fascia with vertically-stacked LED headlights. The bike looks somewhat Dakar-inspired with its design and slim proportions all over.
It gets a 3.5kWh battery pack along with a mid-mounted motor that produces a peak power of 10.8kW and an impressive torque output of 505Nm (at the rear wheel). Ultraviolette says that the torque at the wheel is the same as that of the Ultraviolette F77, but the Shockwave has the distinct advantage of lighter weight as it tips the scale at only 120kg, kerb. The Shockwave has a claimed IDC (Indian driving conditions) range of 165km. Expect a real-world range of over 100km. It can get from 0 to 60kmph in 2.9 seconds (claimed) while the top speed is claimed to be 120kmph.

The Ultraviolette Shockwave gets long travel suspension - a 37mm conventional telescopic fork and a rear monoshock, with an impressive 200mm wheel travel at the front and 180mm of wheel travel at the rear. For braking duties the motorcycle gets a 270mm front and a 220mm rear petal discs. The e-bike also gets a front 19-inch and rear 17-inch spoke wheel setup along with dual purpose radial tyres.
In terms of features it gets a switchable ABS along with a 4 level traction control system. It also gets a 6 level regenerative braking system. The Shockwave features a vertically mounted digital instrument console along with LTE-based e-sim connectivity and smartphone pairing via Bluetooth.
ZigSays
Ultraviolette has designed the Shockwave keeping the peppiness of 2-stroke motorcycles in mind. While there’s no direct competition for the Shockwave, it is a comparable alternative to petrol-powered dual-sport bikes like the Kawasaki KLX230, Hero XPulse 200 and the Hero XPulse 210. It is also India’s first road-legal dual-sport electric bike. Its light kerb weight, torque-friendly motor and long travel suspension should make it the perfect option for the urban (mostly broken) roads.
