Overview

Fast and Fun!

• The Oben Rorr is a fun commuter electric motorcycle which has a neo-retro design, smooth power delivery, and a decent riding experience
• Though the bike lacks features, it makes up for it with its good handling characteristics and on point brakes

Design

Definitely a head-turner

• The neo-retro design of the Oben Rorr looks quite good, especially the funky colour schemes it comes with
• From far, the bike looks like something well above its segment and is very attractive
• The switchgear quality is quite good and gives a premium appeal
• It has inconsistent build quality
• The bike has poor welds, the panels have a crude finish, and you will notice the exposed screws and wires

Performance & Mileage

A fun commuter

• The Havoc mode pulls nicely up to 80kmph, which is more than enough for city speeds
• The instant electric torque allows you to overtake traffic swiftly
• The throttle is super smooth and the regen braking kicks in nicely
• Highway speeds are hard to sustain and the bike runs out of juice post 80kmph

Handling

Nimble and Agile

• The bike handles well
• It takes some effort to turn the bike initially but, once it does, it tips over quite well and inspires a lot of confidence
• The front brake has a lovely sharp initial bite and helps to stop the bike on its heels
• It still does not get ABS at the front wheel which would have been a lifesaver

Ride Quality

Decently comfortable

• The ride quality is decently comfortable as it absorbs small bumps and potholes quite well

Comfort & Storage

Good enough

• The 810mm seat height is accessible for most riders
• Gets storage space on the ‘tank’ and under the seat
• Shorter riders will tip-toe as, despite a low seat height, the mid-section is quite wide which makes it difficult to flat-foot
• The increased kerb weight over the previous iteration means that the bike is a tad bit harder to manoeuvre through parking lots

• Gets a colour LCD console which displays all the essential information
• The LCD cluster lacks connectivity features which are available in bikes from lower segments

Should you buy the Oben Rorr?

• The Oben Rorr is a fun electric motorcycle which handles quite well and has decent levels of performance to ride in the city
• Though it lacks features and has inconsistent build quality
• The range enough for your daily commutes but anxiety will kick in for long distance travelling
• A good bike overall but one will be much more satisfied after taking a look at its rivals

• The Oben Rorr can be charged from 0-80 percent in less than 2 hours, which is quite fast
• The 4.4kWh LPF battery has a decent IDC claimed range of 187km on a full charge
• Rivals have a longer IDC range
