    Less weight doesn't effect the safety of a vehicle . Baleno has less weight than its rivals is bcoz of its hartect chasis which absorbs all the force during an impact and thereby keeps the passengers safe , as claimed by the company . Baleno has under gone euroncap crash test in which it has scored 3out of 5 stars for safety though its the eurpean model but still its ok to compare with it bcoz the european model offer 6 airbags whereas indian model just 2. Mahindra scorpio which weighs around 1and half tons has scored 0 stars in ncap so from this it is evident that wieght and safety are 2 different cases . If you drive within limits baleno will offer good safety although not the best . In this segment honda Jazz offers the best safety . I hope this information helped you
