We finally have a very clear look at the ADV’s instrument console, engine and switchgear

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has been spotted, once again! While it has heavy camouflage with blacked-out panels that are mounted over the bodywork, these are some of the best spy shots of the upcoming Royal Enfield bike, giving us clues about some crucial details.

The most crucial bit is the instrument console, which as we had speculated earlier, is a round TFT unit and will likely facilitate Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Next is the new switchgear, which looks like a much more premium, evolved version of the rotary unit we’ve seen on some of the current Royal Enfield bikes.

In fact, on the right side is a neat little button, which could very well be a switch for cruise control, something that no one would’ve thought would be seen on a Royal Enfield bike, at least in the near future. Behind it is a new brake fluid reservoir as well.

Most importantly, you finally get a clear look at the 450cc liquid-cooled engine, a first for a Royal Enfield bike.

Coming to the finer details, we got a closer look at the CEAT dual-purpose tyres this time around. Interestingly, these tyres aren’t still on sale yet, meaning they could be specifically designed for the ADV. Another important detail is the concave radiator’s cover, with fins shaped inwards, which should ideally result in directing air into the radiator more efficiently, thus optimising the thermal performance. Instead of making the radiator curved, which will be much more expensive, not to mention costly to repair, Royal Enfield has cleverly chosen to make the radiator shroud curved.

As for its heart, the bike will be powered by a 450cc liquid-cooled mill. It could be launched sometime in the coming months at a price of around Rs 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom). Here are our final thoughts about the upcoming ADV. It’ll then go up against the KTM 390 Adventure and the upcoming Hero XPulse 400.
