Royal Enfield has showcased some interesting custom motorcycle creations, highlighting the brand’s growing focus on customisation and unique designs. Among them are the Shotgun 650 ‘Son of a Gun’, developed with Deus Ex Machina, and two radically different Classic 650-based custom builds, VITA and Animus One. While each motorcycle follows a different design approach, all three showcase how far Royal Enfield’s platforms can be transformed through customisation.

Developed in collaboration with Deus Ex Machina, the Shotgun 650 ‘Son of a Gun’ gets an exclusive paint scheme combining red, cream and gold. The motorcycle also features custom graphics, contrast-cut alloy wheels and piano-black engine covers. Other highlights include a brown leather seat with embroidered Deus branding and matching handlebar grips.

These changes give the standard Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 a more distinctive appearance without altering its mechanical package. Royal Enfield will produce just 100 units of this special edition globally in 2027. Each motorcycle will also come with an exclusive Royal Enfield x Deus souvenir jacket featuring heritage-inspired graphics and detailing.

Created by Japanese custom house Custom Works Zon, the VITA is based on the Royal Enfield Classic 650 and was showcased at the 33rd Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2025. The motorcycle uses not one, but two 650cc parallel-twin engines paired together. Another highlight here is the bespoke hard-tail steel frame. It also features a custom girder-style front fork and massive 26-inch wheels.

However, its biggest design highlight is the combination of mahogany wood elements and raw, unpainted aluminium bodywork. The unusual mix of natural materials and exposed metal gives the VITA a rather distinctive appearance, making it stand out from conventional custom motorcycle builds.

Built by Nineteen Works, the Animus One takes customisation to another level. Based on the Royal Enfield Classic 650, it retains only the 650cc parallel-twin engine, with almost everything else being completely bespoke. It gets a custom tubular steel frame with a polished, chrome-like finish, a vintage-inspired girder fork and a sprung tractor-style seat.

The extended streamliner tail is its most striking feature, stretching well beyond the rear axle and partially enclosing the rear wheel. It also features a suicide shifter with an integrated clutch lever. Built purely as a showpiece, the Animus One has no production plans or road-legal version.
