The C3, Citroen’s first mass market model for India, has been spotted testing sans camouflage. The hatch globally debuted in September 2021, and is expected to launch here early this year. It will target popular models like the Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios

When it comes to design, the test mule seen here stays true to the unveiling model. So it gets Citroen’s sleek grille, flanked by split halogen headlights. Body cladding adds a dash of ruggedness, giving it a mini SUV-like look. The presence of steel wheels and lack of fog lamps means this could be a lower-spec model.

If you prefer your C3 to stand out, you’ll be happy to know you can combine different body and roof colours in up to 10 ways.

Inside, the C3’s dashboard layout is up to the point, with no fuss or quirkiness. The bright orange strip brightens things up in an otherwise drab interior. Coming to the features, the hatch gets basics like a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto,  three USB sockets, a 12V socket, steering-mounted controls, and a smartphone clamp.

Passengers should be secured by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.

Citroen is yet to divulge the C3’s powertrain options, but we reckon it could come with 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol mills, paired with manual and automatic transmissions.

Prices of the C3 are likely to start from Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
