Intending to boost domestic sales, the government recently restricted imports of tyres from foreign markets. This made a lot of manufacturers opt for alternate Indian tyre brands. Royal Enfield has also switched to the new Ceat Zoom Cruze tyres on the 2021 Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. Also Read: Royal Enfield Himalayan and Bullet 350 Prices Hiked
Earlier, RE shod the 650 twins with Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tyres which were imported from Brazil. The tyre sizes remain the same: 100/90-18 for the front and 130/70-18 for the rear. According to our sources, the estimated price for the front tyre is Rs 2,700 while the rear will set you back by Rs 3,650.
Even though the Ceat Zoom Cruze cost significantly less than the Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp, RE hasn’t reduced the overall price of the motorcycles. Rather, the 650 twins have just received a price hike. For buyers looking to get the most of their money, this can be a bit disappointing. Click here to read about the 650 twins price hike.
However, the new Ceat tyres will come as a blessing for many 650 twins owners who were struggling to replace tyres on their bikes and of course, the fact that the Indian tyres are cheaper comes as an added bonus.
