What’s New?

The biggest update on the new scooters is the upgraded 3 kWh and 3.1 kWh battery pack options, with a maximum claimed IDC range of up to 132 km. Another big change is the 3.8 kW motor on the new DX Plus scooter, compared to the 4.78 kW motor on the lower variant.

The new DX+ variant comes with two riding modes: Range and Power, but misses out on the Turbo Power mode seen on the smaller battery pack variant. The DX Plus 3.1 kWh can be charged from 0-80% in 3 hours using the onboard charger.

The motor and modes details for the new DX 3 kWh aren't yet disclosed.

What’s Unchanged?

The scooters get the same handlebar-mounted LED headlight, minimalist all-metal body panels, and a single-piece seat, completing the distinctive Kinetic look.

The DX Plus 3.1 kWh is offered in five colours: Black, Silver, Blue, White and Red, while the DX 3 kWh gets two colours: Black and White.

The scooters ride on 12-inch wheels at both ends with a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers. Braking duties are handled by a 220 mm disc brake at the front and a 130 mm drum brake at the rear.

Both variants get an accessible seat height of 717 mm, ground clearance of 165 mm and a large 37-litre underseat storage.

In terms of features, the scooters retain the 8.8-inch LCD console with Bluetooth connectivity, along with hill hold and cruise control as standard. The DX Plus variant gets additional features like Find My Kinetic, geolocation, Guide Me Home, data analytics, and more.

If you are looking for a long-range, practical family scooter, the new Kinetic DX and DX Plus variants are worth checking out. However, you miss out on a more powerful motor and the Turbo riding mode for quicker acceleration.

This has made a clear distinction within the Kinetic DX range – the bigger battery variants are meant for those looking at a longer range, while the smaller battery ones are made for those who prefer performance over range.

The scooters will rival the likes of the TVS iQube 3.5 kWh, Vida VX2 Go 3.4 kWh, and the recently launched Ather Konarc.
