Fresh Face

It’s no secret that the RC 200’s refreshed design is erm… polarising, to say the least. The previous gen’s razor-sharp front end with the projector headlamps has been replaced by a new docile design housing LED headlight and DRLs. The windscreen too has been altered and should likely provide better protection now.

Same Motor

KTM has plonked in the same motor as the outgoing one for the RC 200’s latest iteration. It’s a 199.5cc liquid-cooled unit and pumps out 25.8PS and 19.5Nm (0.3Nm more). The Austrian bike maker also claims to have installed a larger airbox for better flow. Not to mention, the side-mounted radiator fan should assist in better engine cooling.

Weight Reduction

Amidst altering the design, KTM engineers have managed to shed a few kilos on the 2021 KTM RC 200. It now weighs 151kg against the previous mark of 154kg. All thanks to the new 1.5kg lighter frame, 960gms lighter brake discs and the 1kg lighter alloys. That’s not all, the weight reduction has been managed despite increasing the fuel tank capacity from 9.5-litres to 13.7-litres.

Revised Ergos

The new layout of the 2021 KTM RC 200 has not only made the bike look less aggressive but also more accommodating in terms of space. The rider-triangle seems much more comfortable and the new seats should likely offer enough room for both the rider and the pillion.

Price

The outgoing RC 200 is priced at Rs 2.08 lakh and expect the updated model to cost around Rs 2.15 lakh (both ex-showroom Delhi).
