Latest Updates on RC 200
KTM and Husqvarna India are now providing a 5-year extended warranty along with 1-year roadside assistance for free across all their models, applicable from April 1, 2024. KTM has launched the 2024 RC and Adventure line-up with new colour variants, check them all out here.
The RC 200 is a sports bike featuring the same engine as the 200 Duke, it comes with the same design as the RC 390 but in a smaller package. KTM has unveiled the 2024 RC lineup globally and the RC 200 is likely to get two new colours. Here are all the details.
Expert's Opinion on RC 200
Overview

- The KTM RC 200 is the Austrian bike maker’s supersport offering in the 200cc segment
- Features a sporty design and styling similar to the KTM RC 125 and KTM RC 390
Design

- Has a similar design & styling as the KTM RC 390, with a large fuel tank inspired by the one used by KTM’s Moto 3 race bike
- Gets a large windscreen & an aerodynamic faring which looks quite good
- Compared to the first gen-RC 200 the design looks a lot less aggressive & fails to capture that level of sportiness
Performance & Mileage

- Offers exciting power and performance, climbing to triple-digit speeds pretty quickGets a 40 percent larger airbox which has increased available torque across the rev range
- The engine is more tractable than before and can handle lower speeds much better
- Easygoing nature makes it easier for both beginners and experienced riders to extract more performance out of the engine
Handling

- Feels really agile and the bike reacts to small steering inputs quite well
- Brakes feel a bit spongy and require the rider to squeeze them really hard to get the bike to a stop
Ride Quality

- Absorbs most small bumps and potholes well
- 10-step preload adjustability at the rear makes it possible to adjust the tuning according to your preference
- Ride quality is still really stiff and can feel uncomfortable when riding on bad roads
Comfort & Storage

- Gets a better cushioned and more spacious seat when compared to the previous-gen RC 200
- The pillion seat is also more comfortable, now with a flatter profile
- 835mm seat height could make it uncomfortable for shorter riders
Features

- LCD console with a neat layout that is easy to read
- Has necessary electronic riding aids & also offers switchable ABS via Supermoto mode
- Misses out on a TFT console, which the KTM 200 Duke now offers
Key Things to Know about RC 200
- Sharp but forgiving handling; Meatier torque band aids overall driveability; More accessible ergonomics makes for a better all-rounder
- Tyres lack edge grip, letting down the otherwise great handling package; It is a bit pricey; The edgy design is quite polarising
KTM has ushered in a new era of sport machines, and so, it was only fitting for the company to whet our appetite with the RC 200. The new-gen bike is not only fast and sharp as always but is a lot more versatile than the outgoing model. While its design has not been as welcomed as the previous iteration, it does tend to grow on you. It could do with better tyres, though, as that remains one of the chinks in its armour.
