The spy images reveal a new detail which makes the upcoming Truxton look even more appealing!

Quick Highlights:

  • Triumph Thruxton 400 has been spotted testing

  • Will be based upon the same platform as the Speed 400

  • Looks production ready and could launch in India soon

The Triumph Thruxton 400 has been spotted testing in India and the bike, this time it looks quite close to being production ready. That said, there might still be some testing required before we get a launch date from Triumph.

Design

The Triumph Thruxton 400’s design is inspired by the Speed 1200 RR. It gets a frame-mounted fairing, clip-on handlebars, rear-seat footpegs, and bar-end mirrors. The front LED headlight is the same as the Speed 400. The tail light though, is a different unit. The rear grab rail is a single-piece unit and has an aluminium finish. There’s a rear cowl on the rear half of the seat – this could be an optional accessory when the bike launches. The cowl adds to the cafe-racer aesthetic of the Thruxton 400.

Engine and Underpinnings

The Triumph Thruxton 400 should get the same underpinnings as the Speed 400: the 40PS, 37.5Nm, 398cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. An inverted telescopic fork and a preload adjustable monoshock. Braking from a 300mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear, dual-channel ABS. 17-inch wheels at both ends.

Features

The spy shots reveal that the bike will get the same instrument cluster as the Speed 400, a semi-digital instrument cluster with an analogue speedometer. The LCD console shows the tachometer, fuel levels, trip meters, odometer and other tell tale lights. The spyshots also reveal that it will get an all-LED lighting setup.

Expected Launch, Price and Rivals

We expect the upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 to launch in the second half of 2025 and could be priced around Rs 2.60 lakh (ex-showroom). It will sit right in between the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X in India which cost Rs 2,40,405 and Rs 2,64,949 ( ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively. While the Thruxton won’t have a natural rival when it launches, other similarly-priced performance-oriented alternatives with sporty ergos would be the TVS Apache RR 310 and the KTM RC390.
